aisle runner??

any of you girls not having or didn't have for all the recent brides!) and aisle runner.

19 days to go and no aisle runner.  I just kept putting it off.  do I "need" one?  the entire church has tiled floor and I was worried my heels would click going down the aisle but I doubt anyone would be able to hear it over the organ music.  I just don't know that I've ever been to a wedding w/o one.  not sure where I'd buy one either.

opinions?

Re: aisle runner??

  • I'm not having one. They're tripping hazards as far as I'm concerned.

  • No aisle runner, and only been to one wedding that had one at all. Go without if you want!

  • I'm skilling the runner, I'm not a fan.  They are slippery, especially on a tile floor.  I've seen more photos recently without a runner and I think it is much prettier.

My church was just remodeled (the church was re-opened 2 weeks ago) and I can't justify covering the beautiful new wood floors with a runner.
  • No runner here either. I do like the look of it, but its a huge tripping hazard on the venue's marble floor. I really don't want to face plant down the aisle, so no runner.

  • I'm having one (provided by either the church or the florist, I can't remember which) only because the church has red carpet and I'm afraid that without the white aisle runner the fake leaves my FG is dropping won't show up. On a tile floor I'd skip it. I'd be too afraid of slipping and falling.

  • I'm having one; my florist is providing it.  The church floor is carpeted, but I'd rather not pull a bunch of dust up the aisle with me under my dress.

I don't think you need one, especially if you're having organ music playing.  No one will hear your shoes.
  • W elooked at the one at michales and it was basically thinner than a table cloth for 40$ really? umm no.. slipping hazzard

Fi ended up going out and buying a 600 foot (48" wide row of craft paper ) LOL it was SUPER THICK! and he rolled down and had it held down by haybales... it worked great (till the rain came heheh) even after that it wasn't to bad :D do waht pleases you.. but the Michaels aisles I don't see as worth it definetly not!

  • No runner for us.  Seem unnecessary.
