Cake topper! Or inspiration

I am slightly obsessed with these lately. I keep stalking Etsy, but I'm way too cheap to shell out $80 for a (totally georgeous) cake topper. Im looking for some ideas, and all of you ladies have such great taste!

We're using a rhinestone butterfly that will be sitting in a bed of flowers in honor of my late grandmother, I wanted to feel like she was with me at that moment. You can check out crafty eddy and DIY the rest for decorating.

Ok, so we are a bit weird..my FI wants this one..he's a football fanatic (i'm hockey but there were none of the bride holding the hockey stick)

If not that one, then it is this one, to go with the vintage theme..the suitcase gave it that feel for me.

We are having custom wooden peg dolls as our cake topper. The dolls will be painted to look like us. FI will have a Whalers logo on his tux and I will have a Bruins B on my dress. We wanted to have something fun that was a reflection of us.

We bought these off of etsy forever ago. They are wooden kokeshi dolls that are painted like owls. I loved them so much and it's something I would actually display in our house afterwards. They were more than I wanted to spend, but I just fell in love.

My mom bought us a Precious Moments cake topper a couple of months ago. I think it's discontinued because I can't find a picture of it anywhere. It's very cute so we'll probably put it on top of our cutting cake at the wedding, unless FI gets his way and we buy this one instead:

I unfortuantely don't have a picture yet. My FI and I are an interracial couple and there aren't many great interracial cake toppers so we knew we wanted to do a monogram. We are having a wine themed wedding and we are doing a small 2-tier cake and then the rest cupcakes. Our baker found a glass wine stopper with a beautiful monogram "M" on it. Then she's going to put a similar monogram font on each cupcake! So we have a wine stopper cake topper....I always love how silly that sounds. But we'll also have the cake topper to use after the wedding as a little momento of our cake (that is if we ever don't polish off the bottle...).

This is currently my Favorite, but I don;t know what kind of cake we will be doing yet, so I can;t make the topper decision until I make the cake decision. I am kind of hoping that we dont need one or that we can just do a simple H becuase I can't believe how expensive these are!

FI is a huge Star Wars fan and we both dig legos, so we decided on this one. Love it! My friend was freaked out that they don't have faces, but since they are legos, I don't think it is a big deal.
