Guest transportation - are we responsible?

Hello,

I've been struggling with what to do about guest transportation on the wedding day. Our wedding is in Florida and a lot of our guests (from my side) will be out-of-towners. I would like to try to accommodate them in some way by providing transportation on the day of the wedding. I'm thinking of renting a bus or van or something like that to pick people up. Of course, I would rather not  have to do this with all the other wedding expenses and things to think about but I thought it was the right thing to do. Just wanted to get some opinions and suggestions, especially if any of you have the same situation.

    Most of our guest are from OOT also, and we are not providing transportation. Our reasoning is, that they have to rent a car if they are flying or will have their car if they drive, therefore they will be able to get themselves to the church and back.

    Most of my OOTs would be too far to drive so they will fly and the majority of these people are family members which makes me feel even more obligated to accommodate. My plan was to recommend hotels by the airport which provide free shuttle transportation so that they wouldn't need to rent a car. Then, I would just accommodate on the day of the wedding.

    Many of my guests will be from out of town also, but we are not providing transportation. Most of them will want to be able to go out to eat, or go to the theme parks, or go shopping while they are here.  I'm sure that they will want to do things in addition to attend my 4 hour wedding while they are in Orlando.

    I'm assuming that those flying will be renting cars and those driving will have them already.

    I don't think you are responsible but I do think it is nice to provide to your guests.  A lot of my guests are coming in from out of state.  I am sure a lot of them will be renting cars but I figured since they are spending a lot of money to fly in and stay at a hotel, then I can provide transporation from the hotel to the venue (wedding and reception are at the same place).

    I agree with the PPs. I am not providing transportation BUT I am writing local taxi services on my website ( plus most hotels have a phonebook). I think if they are flying in then they are going to rent a car or they are going to take a taxi or some people might double up with people who live local and drive together( ie family ) . I mean its a nice thougth but not necessary.
