Im having a hard time with this! Is it realistic to ask for the girls to pay so much?? Dresses, hair/makeup, stagette? And even if it is, how much is a reasonable price??

    No, it's not OK to ask them to pay for all that.

    BMs should never be required to pay for hair or makeup because if they are required to be done professionally, the bride must pay for them (and even then, some people don't like others touching their hair or face so I'm not a fan of requiring professional hair makeup). Also, pre-wedding parties are optional gifts to the bride that shouldn't be requested, no BM should be expected to help throw one. If they do throw one, it should be voluntary and since those who throw it will only throw it if they can afford it and need only throw a party within their budget, I don't see why budget need be a problem.

    Well im not requiring anything, because i know how hard it is for people to afford extra things that they arent usually expected to pay. But my MOH has extra money and she thinks it is a must to have our make up professionally done. So their hair and makeup will cost them 125 each. And the dresses weve been interested in run them about 249.. which is a lot but they are the type of dress you would wear again. But id still never expect anyone to pay this kind of money! And as for the stagette the girls are planning a weekend away which would run them another 200! this seems crazy to me, i dont know if im the only one???
