    Hi Roxy,
I just posed the same question the other day and the concensus on the board is that Jessica and Dan are amazing!! But I just checked with my WC and their prices seem really high because of their travel fee to Kaanapali- Olowalu.
Jessica ( makeup) is $125 plus $75 travel fee
Dan ( hair) is $150 plus $75 travel fee.
IDoes anyone know if there is anyone equally amazing for hair and makeup that doesn't charge the travel fee?
    Thanks, Lees!

I think they all charge the travel fee, especially when it's to West Maui (Olowalu). What you can do is see if Jessica will give waive the travel fee if you have your make-up done at Dan's salon. They are friends and she goes there often. Or call her and tell her what your budget is and see what she can offer.

I'm sure there are other hair and make-up choices but you may not have all the reviews to rely on like you do for Dan and Jess. For me I like the safety of knowing that Dan and Jessica are great at what they do, I've seen so many past brides pics that I thought looked amazing and read so many reviews.

Doing my trial with them both really confirmed what I already knew and I'm "splurging" to have them. If it's just way outside your budget, maybe consider going to a salon to get hair/make-up and to avoid travel fee.

I'm using Dan and Jessica, too.  I've looked at other's hair and make-up that was done by others and didn't like it as much. Figured I'd go for it since it is my wedding day.

Roxy, I contacted Dan and Jessica for our June wedding and they both said I could book that far out.  We are going to wait until the first of the year after we buy air to see if we could splurge on this one aspect.  Jessica's assistant advised that I may want to wait until after our TTD shoot and have her do my makeup then.  I appreciated her giving me options to save money.

I booked them both at this time next year for my wedding next July. Didn't want to take any chances.

Im going to ask my WC for any more suggestions if not I'll probably go with Jessica and Dan since they are available! Just seems like alot of money for hair and makeup eek! Since we are getting married at Olowalu, my WC has left it up to me either to get ready at the hotel with AC or at Olowalu non AC. Does anyone have any advice on this, what did you guys do?Thanks! Lees!

<div>I've been to Olowalu and there's a nice breeze. You can also get your makeup done outside on the lanai, which makes for great photos.</div><div>
</div><div>Personally I think it's about preference. Since our wedding is in December, I'm going to opt to get ready at Olowalu since we have the property starting at 10, might as well take advantage of it while we have it for the day! :)</div>

Sunshiney - We got ready at Olowalu on the big front porch.  It was perfection, I would have been so upset if I had gotten ready at a hotel when I could have gotten ready there!  I just wore shorts and a bandeau type bra top and was perfectly comfortable getting ready there.  You are paying a lot for that property, use it!!

It's the best way to go! Getting ready on the lanai was one of my highlights of the day. It built the excitement up perfectly. =)

My coordinator hired Jeane Muldoon for me and I really liked the makeup and hair she did for  me.

I just came back and Andrea Duarte of A pampered maui bride did my hair/makeup for our engagement shoot and I thought she did a great job. She charges $160 with no travel fee.
