We are currently working with a travel agent to plan our honeymoon in Tahiti. Because it is so expensive I was worried about booking it online and wanted to have a real person help me. I think we pretty much have it all planned out, I just need to go make the deposit.
It will be 5 nights in a beach suite in Moorea and 3 nights overwater bungalow in Bora Bora
We booked it last month. We are going to The Royal Cancun for 6 nights. We were looking around, mainly just for fun, and I noticed many of the resorts we were interested in seemed to be booking up pretty quick and honestly it scared us, lol, So we went ahead and made our decision and booked it!
Ours is half booked.. or about 1/3 booked. Due to lack of vacation time we are piggy backing our honeymoon onto a confrenece FI and are are both attending next June in Vegas. We have the confrence and 3 nights at the MGM booked. Now to just figure out where to spend the rest of the week and buy plane tickets.
We know what we want to do, but will be booking it in the next 2-3 months. We are going to Europe, specifically London & Dublin. We are going for 9 days. and will be using 4 vacation days because we are going over memorial day week.
Our second idea of what to do was to go to Califorina for 9 days and visit San Francisco, Napa valley and Yosimite National park. This was originally our primary idea beacuse we wanted to save money, but when it really came down to it, we really just wanted to go to Europe.
May 2013 Brides Siggy Challenge January- Let Them Eat Cake! My cake is a 2-tier ivory cake with silver dotted scallops, ribbon and pearl brooch.
We're going on a 7day Southern Caribbean Carnival Cruise. We've paid the deposit just to secure the price. We're waiting for AirTran to put out the flight schedules for May. They don't come out until October. So we're going to stalk the website for a while after that to see when the flights are the cheapest, and when we figure it out, we're going to go ahead and pay off the whole vacation.
Haven't but we won't be able to afford anything too big. More than likely we'd go up north or to the Dells. I'm keeping my eye on groupons and livingsocial deals :-)
I'm probably the only one not thinking about it since we're going to do our official honeymoon later next year. We're going to do a mini-moon right after but nothing crazy.
We booked our flights and hotels back in July. Now we just need to figure out the train to and from Rome, as well as any tours we want to take. We are planning on doing a lot of exploring on our own, so we hopefully don't have too much more to book. We also have the flights and hotel in Venice paid for. We are trying to get everything paid early, so we don't have to stress about it later. Lol
We've worked out everything but our flight for our HM. 10 days at the Excellence Punta Cana. I'm working with a travel agent, who managed to find a deal for $1000 cheaper than what I was seeing online. So it basically meant we could upgrade to a suite for the same price as the lowest-tier room on the website!
Now I just need Dad to decide if he's doing our flights via airline miles or buying them. (HM and wedding dress are my parents' contributions.)
We've just decided to go to Greece/eastern Europe for a few weeks (before he starts residency) So it will be our honeymoon/graduation trip. We've booked our resort in Greece, just waiting for good deals for flights and figure out rest of our itinerary.
vchan4: Have you checked USAirways? We booked our flights to Italy through them for about 1000 less than we found anywhere else. It is also a direct flight. Also, you can get miles from them without using there credit card, and they will refund the difference if the price of your tickets goes down.
Not booked yet and won't be for a long while. We've decided to not do Cuba in May as well as our family vacation to Disney in July. So we are once again saying our family vacation is our honeymoon. The only things we need to do are books flights (will use our airmiles points) and a rent a car, my parents own a house in FL.

You're damn right it's expensive! The packages we're looking at are more than double our wedding budget. We can afford it, but I'm kind of weirded out by the idea of spending more than twice on our honeymoon than on our wedding. It also makes we worry that I'm severely underestimating my wedding costs...
