Late Summer / Early Fall Venue

Hi all!! Hope everyone’s planning is going well :) I am still searching for a venue so that I can also set an official date. We're thinking late September or Early October of 2013.

I am looking for a more casual venue...preferably outdoorsy. We are going to be saying our vows in a very intimate ceremony and then will be holding a party/celebration event. We’re thinking 60-75 people, but will be finalizing that this this weekend. Additionally, we are on a total budget of under $5,000. We want to enjoy the day and celebrate with family and friends but not be in debt afterwards.

I was thinking the North Park Lodge because it’s inexpensive ($350 all day, including alcohol permit… and about 90 chairs and tables for the chairs) and can allow us to do a very casual celebration… Additionally, we can supply our own alcohol (I have many bartender friends I can pay to help) and can choose our own caterer. I am going to see the lodge next week.

I would also consider an outdoorsy venue… I wish the Morning Glory Inn didn’t have such horrible reviews, because their lit up garden at night is what I consider to be PERFECT.

Does anyone else have other inexpensive/creative ideas? My other concern is a few family members will be traveling…I would have liked to have a venue that was very close to a hotel in order to prevent DUIs…

    I would definitely suggest looking into the North Park Lodge. I went to a reception there a few years ago and it was very nice.

    Although, I have to agree with Snip, you are probably going to be facing an uphill battle finding vendors. My friend is getting married in October, and she ended up having to go with a Friday date because Saturdays were already booked...and that was in September of last year. Good luck!!
