Vows

Has anyone started thinking about vows yet? Are you planning on making one of your own?

FI and I agreed that we'd like to make our own, but we have no idea where to start. Suggestions?

Well we already have our complete ceremony written up (thanks to the Judge). I would like to add our own short vows after the "repeat after me" vows." So no I haven't started on those yet!

I'd have to google wedding vows and start with those!

Yup our entire ceremony is already done. I am going to be too overwhelmed to remember our own personalized vows so we are going to go with the whole repeat after me. We have wedding vows and ring vows. Here are the wedding vows.

I promise to be faithful, supportive, and loyal
and to give you my companionship and love
throughout all the changes of our life. I vow to bring you happiness,
and I will treasure you as my companion. I will celebrate the joys of life with you. I promise to support your dreams,
and walk beside you
offering courage and strength through all endeavors.

From this day forward,
I will be proud to be your wife
and your best friend

Fi insisted that we write our own. He's had his written for over 2 years now. I have a rough draft, but am so nervous about this...I would rather recite vows already written.

These are our vows:

I promise to love you from this day forward I will laugh with you in happiness and console you in sorrow. I promise to be your companion and offer my life long support in every part of your dreams.These things I give to you today and all the days of our lives.

We're going with the standard church vows. FI is not very expressive with his words, so doing our own vows was out of the question!

I are doing the "repeat after me" way. I am so nervous about everyone looking at me while I walk down the aisle and while we stand up there, there's no way I could recite vows that I wrote! I'll write the mushy stuff in a card with his gift before the wedding.

I like the in good/bad/rich/poor/sickness/health part, I might go very traditional. FI wants something highly personal with stories about us... I dunno.

I told FI he's not allowed to write his own because hes a stand-up comedian and when they get a microphone its dangerous!

FI is insisting on writing our own, but I know that I'm going to be a mess reading them. I'm terribly afraid of public speaking even after taking a course to try to get over it. I might see about writing our own and then having the pastor do a repeat after me where he reads them and then we repeat them. No matter what I'll be crying though.

FI suggested writing our own. I wrote mine and am surprisingly really happy with them. I'm going to be sobbing while I say them but it just feels right. FI hasn't started his yet but we've been in sort of a wedding planning lull till recently.
