Want to plan NY wedding from DC? LOL

Hello fellow brides how are you, I am glowing here after a weekend engagement and still riding the wave of coworkers and strangers' well wishes and blessings..Am convinced that my six year courtship has entitled me to an extended engagement so we are waiting about two years..I also have to plan and pay for a wedding in NY when we are both Alexandria Virginia residents that work in DC..I need SO MUCH help in finding a venue and vendors in the New York/Long Island area..My fiance is from Nassau County but anywhere is fine.. I have time but would love all the help I can get from former or future brides that know something about the area and weddings on a budget LOL..Thanks so much and congrats to us all this is going to be an exciting journey...:)

What kind of venue are you looking for and what location would you prefer? Nassau? Suffolk? Do you want uber traditional or something a little edgy and different?

HI there, I am getting married in Feb 25th in Long Island and live in Alexandria VA as well :)  Welcome to the club!  I am getting married in Timberlake Point CC, we have decided to go for a winter wedding to save some money.  All depends on your budget to find the right place :)

I would like to recommend our planner - amazing Evgenia from Event Remembered. She did everything for us, venue, vendors, I mean everything! We had only basically arrive to our own wedding had enjoy the day and the days after. Their website is www.eventremembered.com

Wow your venue sounds awesome, can you tell me more about it? Oh and good luck on your Feb wedding, how was planning from VA?

Timberpoint is great, since it is a winter wedding, they have been very accomodating in terms of number of guests and price.  My wedding is small (only 65ppl) but their ballroom can hold upto 200 guests, so it is nice and spacious with a great view to the golf course.  I am really excited about the menu.  We just booked our DJ (Good Time Entertainment) so far planning has been smooth, thank God for internet! :)
