High school reunion - invitation dilemma

I got a save the date for my high school reunion several months ago. FI and I booked plane tickets to go. For those who don't know, I live in LA, but I grew up and went to high school in Buffalo, NY. Right after graduation, my parents moved about 200 miles away to another property near where my mom was born. Because of this, I fly into Syracuse when I visit my parents and it's been nearly 5 years since I've been back to Buffalo. I thought this would be a nice opportunity to show FI the place I grew up and get him to eat at all the traditional Buffalo places.

I got a great deal on plane tickets in February and booked them. I got the invitation last week and no where on the invite or RSVP card does it mention guests. However, I've never heard of a reunion where you couldn't bring a date.

I'm at the point where, although I know it's wrong, I'm going to fill in "2" on the invitation and then put the ball in their court.

On a related note, anyone have ideas for what I should wear? I have yellow kitten heels I can wear with the outfit if that helps.

Is there anyone you can call? I've never heard of a reunion where you couldn't bring a date either, but I'd want to be sure, especially if you have to pay for the reunion itself.

I'm thinking it's an oversight or whoever did the invites didn't know to actually specify that yes, your SO/DH is included. RSVP for 2 and have a fabulous time!

I've never heard of a reunion where you can't bring a date. That would be so strange, and half the fun of a reunion is to meet everyone's spouses. I would probably also RSVP for two and see what happens.

As for what to wear, where is the reunion/what are you doing? I've seen a huge range for reunions as far as formality goes.

If there is a space to put the number of guests then I would assume you have the option of bringing a guest. I think you're good to go.

I haven't been to a HS reunion so I'm not sure on what to wear. Where is the reunion taking place? Are you familiar with it because you lived there? I'm always a fan of dark straight leg jeans with fun colored heels and a "fun" cami under a jacket of some sort. It's polished but trendy.

I like how you think. I bought my RD dress so I could wear it with a killer pair of red and white striped peep-toe heels. :)

I haven't seen my H's 10 year reunion invitation, but I'm definitely going. I've never heard of a reunion that didn't allow dates. I figure there's no way they could address the invites to SO's because the whole point of the reunion is that they haven't seen you in a while and have no clue what's going on in your life.

I know! A lot of my class is engaged or married (including my best friend from age 7 through high school), and some have kids. I'm really looking forward to meeting their spouses.

We do not have to pay for the reunion. There's no line for number of people, just an "accepts" or "declines" so I'm going to write something like (2) next to the accepts. I guess I feel less embarassed doing that than asking the alumni coordinator if I can bring a date/FI.

And the reunion involves a celebration of mass at 4:30pm in the school chapel, followed by an open bar and food provided by local restaurants. I was thinking a cute cocktail dress? Nothing to racy, since there's church involved, and the school dress code itself states that your shoulders must be covered by at least 2 inches. Not that it applies to me, but still. So nothing strapless.

These are the yellow shoes. I don't HAVE to wear them, but I just got them and thought they'd be cute for a mid-May event.

When I went to my HS reunion a few years ago, this was the "uniform" that it seemed like all of the women were wearing (me too!), but the reunion was at a casual bar & grill type of place. If it's fancier you may want to wear a dress.
