Facials

I've read in several wedding articles that it's a good idea to regularly schedule facials a few months prior to your wedding.  I've never had a facial before and I really have no idea what they entail.  When I looked up facials on a local spa's website, there are many different options listed.  I have no idea which one I would go with.  Could someone please give me some tips on what to look for and what to expect from a facial?  I have sensitive skin, a little more on the dry side, and I get breakouts every once in a while.  Also, here's a link to the site I'm on so you can see what I'm looking at: http://www.EvolveSalonSpa.com/skin-care.html.

Re: Facials

  • So I went into Massage Envy today in Columbus off Bethel Rd. And talked to Monica and Beverly about getting my skin flawless for the wedding. They were soo sweet and very knowledgeable about what I needed to do. They totally hooked me up with a plan as far as when and how often to come in for a facial and what products to use. After talking with them I have no worries about my face being clear and smooth for my pictures. You have to go see them.

  • I would suggest getting something simple, at first, to make sure you dont have a reaction to the salons' products. Once your there you can talk to the esthetician about the other facials they offer and the different benefits from them. I've had two so far at different salons and my first one was way better than my second.

  • Whenever you book the session, just tell them that you'd like to talk to your esthetician in more detail when you come in. They'll look at your skin and know what you need. I work at Massage Envy and we aren't allowed to book facials by what products they use (acne, vitamin c, age reform, or sensitive skin) because the estetician is the pro and knows what they need. When I had my facial, she told me that my cheeks are really dry and my t-zone is oily. I knew about the oily, but not about the dryness.

But, relax. If you let them know it's your first time, they'll go over everything with you and if you have questions, just ask. They don't get offended. But, have fun! I love facials =)
