Costa Rica - weather in June & activities

Hi!

We are honeymooning in Guancaste, Costa Rica this June. I look at the weather almost everyday and I think have yet to see an icon other than a rain cloud :(
Has anyone had experience with Costa Rica weather in June? I've heard it only rains for a little while when it does, but I'm definitely hoping for a lot of sun too!

Also, are there any activities that you would recommend? We definitely want to take advantage of all they have to offer!

Thank you!!

Hi Kristen, we are also honeymooning in Costa Rica in June. We are going to Manuel Antonio. It will be hot and humid. It will likely rain once a day, but shouldn't rain all day everyday so you should be able to get some sun in without issue. I am not really familiar with Guancaste, but I am sure someone will chime in with some good ideas :). Enjoy!!!
  • We went to a DW back in March in Costa Rica. We stayed in Jaco Beach, Manuel Antonio, and outside San Juan. It was very hot in March so I'm sure it will be very hot and humid in June.

What kind of activities do you like to do?

In Manuel Antonio make sure to go to the National Park. There are tons of monkeys and the beachs are very pretty. We did zip lining, a coffee plantation tour, we went up to Arenal volcano and the hot springs. It is a beautiful country with a lot to offer.

  • Costa Rica has two seasons (dry and rainy). The rainy season is supposed to be from May to November, but some say that it's not as bad as it sounds. That means, there is rain, but not (necessarily) pouring all day.

Here's a discussion on trip advisor about it.

Costa Rica is FABULOUS!! The people are great, there's a lot of stuff to do and the country is beautiful. The only think is that I don't remember a lot of nightlife.

As for activities, they have TONS of ziplines (I hear the one in Monteverde is the best), there's the volcano in Arenal, you can go ATV riding, river rafting, rappelling through waterfalls, exploring the area, surfing, yoga... and I'm sure I'm leaving some things out...

    Have a great time!
