I hate weddings.

So Steve and I booked our wedding venue at the very begining of this year. Another couple in our circle of friends got engaged after us, anyway they just told us today they booked the same venue for 1 month before our wedding!! They knew exactly when and where we booked. I am so upset I dont even want to get married there anymore. Its going to be 2 weddings within a month at the same place witht he same circle of friends. I am beyond hurt and upset.

Am I acting crazy?????

    idk everyone is diff I am gettin married a the same venue my bestfriend got married at in march (should have been oct) but neither of us cared

    I don't think it's crazy to be a little bothered by this, assuming your area has plenty of similarly priced options and your friends had no special, emotional connection to the place. However, if you picked it because you loved it for yourself and your FI, don't let this ruin the place OR your friendship. Hopefully both you and the other couple can have fun, different, special weddings there. Honestly they were probably just finding the best fit for them and it happened to coincide, though giving you a heads up might have been courteous. This wedding planning stuff can't help but be a bit emotional...

    No you're not acting crazy. Everybody wants their wedding to be special, and different. I'm sure you guys have different personailites and their wedding will be way different then yours. If the only thing that is the same is the venue try not to get upset. If they really are your friends they didn't pick it to hurt your feelings.

    I understand your feelings but as PPers have said every wedding is different.  Your day will be YOUR day no matter what.  Don't sweat this instead concentrate on having the perfect event for your and your FH.



    Love is the ultimate superpower.   
    It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

    I'd be upset too, but reading the above posts made this one a little more rational.
    I agree with you about being upset though. I'm mad for you. But then again, I discounted a few venues just because people I know had gotten married there recently so I may not be the best judge.

    I completely agree with you where I live in Jersey there are very reasonable priced venue halls, and all of them are already booked up for next August believe it or not. My FI sister got married on our military base back in 09 and it came up as an option for us. Immediately I was like absolutely not, because of the same reasons you have that our friends have already seen it and ect. But then I thought the hall will be decorated alot differently, different music, different food and most importantly different couple getting married. Plus people do that all the time ask their friends for referrals of halls. Dont sweat it, just enjoy YOUR day.
