Inexpensive outdoor venues?

I am in the beginning stages of wedding planning but know feel pretty set on having the reception in an outdoors location that is fairly inexpensive; we are also considering restaurants with spacious courtyard areas.  So far the venues we've found are a bit overpriced for us....we are simple and want to have an evening cocktail styled event using hor d'ouevres and open bar mainly.  Any suggestions?

Have been looking at Pat O's, House of Broel, Broussards courtyard, and La Lousiane restaurant (no outdoor area, but nice pricing).  Any other suggestions for FQ areas or outdoor areas in the NO vicinity?  Any suggestion and review is welcome!!!!!

    Artillery Park is free.

Jackson Square charges a minimum of $250.

I'm using Rosy's Jazz Hall. They had one of the best prices I could find. They have an outdoor courtyard and an atrium. Check out thier website!!!

City Park!  I'm having my ceremony at the Peristyle and reception at the Parkview Terrace (cocktail seating, hor d'oevres, open bar) and I found their rental rates and wedding package to be reasonably priced.  The Parkview Terrace has a nice outside veranda, but you could also opt for the Pavillion of the Two Sisters in the Botanical Garden which is a little pricier to rent but more outdoors and very beautiful, plus you need a minimum of about 200 people.

THank you for your suggestions so far!  I've been in talks with House of Broel, they seem very reasonable....however their outdoors area is very small.  Have any of you had experiences with Margaret Gardens Inn uptown?  I'm just finding out about this more and they have little information on the website.

I've contacted Rosy's and City Park, hopefully will hear more soon!  Thank you for the suggestions so far!  Keep them coming!  I love love ove to hear about those who have experienced a wedding there or have had/will be having one...and any information on budgeting is welcome!  We are on a tight one :)

Do you have to be in the city directly? I would look into Champagne Palace or the Royal Palm (both on the westbank if I'm not mistaken).
