Hey ladies!  Anyone have any experience with R-Ranch?  (in Dahlonega, GA)

    I do.  I went there all the time when I was younger and my cousin was married there about 3 years ago.  Both the outdoor venue and the Lodge are gorgeous!  The food was also very good.  I seriously considered getting married there as well but I thought it was a bit too soon after my cousin's wedding.

    Went there to see the venue, and if you like mountain redneck trailer park - then you're all set! We were REALLY disappointed when we went there after reading so many great reviews :(  The plastic toy horses super-glued to the sign isn't really a great way to introduce prospective clients to your "professional events venue." 

    We made an appointment with the events coordinator.  Not only did her ASSISTANT arrive, but she showed up late besides.  We made an appointment with one of the caterers at the same time there, and she never showed up nor called.  We called her: no answer.  We e-mailed when we returned home, and she said, "sorry, the roads were closed to R-Ranch" (snow) which is funny because....we got up there just fine. 

    The lodge is nice, but we were told that they couldn't prevent members from using the lodge since they paid for it in their membership (this included DURING our wedding and reception.)  The lodging offered on-site? I don't think so.  The cabins are outdated, and we were told that they have a bad ladybug infestation, etc.  in the Fall.  When we asked about any other things to be added to our wedding weekend (bonfire for our guests Friday night before the wedding?)  we were shown the bonfire area all right....smack dab in the middle of RV and 5-th wheel trailer parking - yeehaw!

    I really wanted R-Ranch to work (and we're not fussy people) but it just looked cheap and not so organized. :(
