Airbrushed makeup

I'm trying to decide between two makeup options. One is to have the spa where we're getting our hair done do the makeup, but they don't offer airbrushing. The second option is to bring in a professional MUA who will do it. The latter is obviously more expensive.

Pros and cons of airbrushing please? Experiences?

I have the same dilemma but I choose the spa/salon where I'm getting my hair done. I would love the airbrush but I just don't have the extra money. I'm doing something special for my FI so I'm cutting back on something for myself. I'd say if you have the time to have two separate people do your hair and makeup, and it's in your budget, do the airbrushing. I hear it's amazing!

  • Honestly, it sounds like getting the regular application would be easier and cheaper for you.. so I would go that route..
But If I had HAD the opportunity (no one in my city did airbrushing) I would have gone airbrushing all the way. It just looks flawless. It stays on incredibly well (the last time I had it done I had that stuff on for two days and I'm a big-time face toucher lol), it photographs beautifully.
THe only thing I didn't get to experiment with is what would happen if you cried a lot.. you can't really reblend it like you can with normal make up... so if you're a big crier, then you might want to reconsider. (I am a big crier, but surprisingly was too excited and nervous on our wedding day to cry haha)

Also, if you go this route, keep in mind that the person may or may not have eyelashes/mascara for you since that's not something that is airbrushed on. When I had the airbrush done it was at Sephora so she was able to put on mascara, but if the woman would be coming to  you, just something to mention  :)
  • I had the MUA come to my hotel and do airbrushing. To me, it was worth the extra expense but it was also something I put in my budget from the beginning. It was worth it for the convenience and I wanted to be pampered and relax.
  • Airbrushing is amazing but some makeup branda are just as long lasting so it dependa what brands your spa uses.
  • I had airbrushing done for my boudoir photos I did for FI shortly after our engagement, and I looked amazing. my skin looked so flawless.
    I would highly recommend it.
I will most likely be doing it, someone else offered to pay for my makeup to get done though, so I feel really uncomfortable with getting airbrushing.. I will probably offer to pay for the difference.
Highly recommend it if you have the room in your budget for it though!!
  • I had a similar problem - I ended up deciding to have my hair (and the BM hair) done at my salon and then the airbrush makeup artist is coming to my parents' house where we are all getting ready to do makeup.

The price ended up being a little more - but not by much.
