Registry Incentives

Hello,
I am Sarah. Getting married in June, finally! Met FI when we were 13 and 14 and started getting serious about two years ago- he proposed in May!

Anyways, to those of you who know about registry incentives... I am confused by the wording of some of these.
I keep assuming "Complete Your Registry with....." means to literally have the gift given to you, but then completing your registry for it would mean just make sure your registered for it, right?
Woo, I have managed to so thoroughly confuse myself it's not even funny.

Re: Registry Incentives

  • Yes, it does make sense.
    Thanks.
I kind of wish that stores would separate their lists instead of confusing the heck out of people.

  • Am I the only one who found the idea of registry incentives bizarre?  Before we registered I had no idea they existed and it struck me as ... rude of the store/manufacturer.  I actually felt incented NOT to register for those brands.

I would still register for these brands regardless of incentives. It just gives me better reasons to love it even more.

[QUOTE]The usual incentive is a store discount after the wedding, so that you can complete your registry and get unpurchased items.

This is the only registry incentive that I have ever heard of.

Anything left on our registry (or even extra things we added) after the wedding we could buy for 10% off - the discount is valid for one year after the wedding.  We can use it for any housewares - couches, linens, dishes, electronics...
