videographer

are you using a videographer?

FI and I were not planning on it. But then I started to creep on some videography sites and watch the videos. Some of them seriously brought tears to my eyes. If i am getting teary eyed over random peoples videos, I will be bawling during mine! So I think we are for sure going to have the ceremony professionally taped.

Re: videographer

  • We are definitely having a videographer! We werent sure at first, but once I started to look into it i definitely changed my mind!

  • I *REALLY* want one but I don't think we can fit it into the budget. My aunt keeps telling me how much we need one so I'm hoping she's going to get us one for our wedding gift. Though it's unlikely-it would be amazing!

I saw there are some companies that give you 4-5 cameras and you hand them out to specific guests to record the ceremony/reception and then they edit the footage. I'm wary of doing this though because I know people would get drunk and end up shooting the floor or a door for an extended period of time. (or have a shaky hand-nothing irritates me more than watching a video when the person can't keep still!)

  • klyn- I know I think it is a really cool concept. If i was going to do that, I would have to not give my friends the cameras during the reception, the video would probably turn out horrible!

  • I wasn't planning on having one either, but after watching several videos I really want to reconsider. Budget is the problem with us and I know if I tell my FI I want one he will tell me he will make it happen. I just don't want to get too crazy and go too far over budget. We are actually saving as we go.

  • Yeah, FI nixed a pro videographer because of costs, but we'll probably set up a couple cameras to catch the ceremony and maybe I'll ask an uncle to record the toasts and first dance and such. My sister and I love watching home videos and one video I kinda wish my parents had was of their wedding, even though back then that was the ultimate luxury!

  • A videographer isn't in our budget.  However, we will have a family member tape our ceremony so we at least have that to look back on throughout the years.
