Wedding Woes

Good morning

I wonder what time Bmom will be reporting today, as she can now srtike up the doobies any time.  ;)

Who's tired this morning?  I know I am.

My FB newsfeed is split just about 50/50, which I find pretty amusing.

Re: Good morning

  • I'm proud of Washington and Maryland for doing the right thing and allowing marriage equality. I have a feeling I'll never see that in our state considering how red we were in this (and every) election (since 2000). And sweet mercy, to live in Colorado or Washington right now...

I think my feelings about this outcome can be explained with this gif:

  • I freaking love that movie.  :)

It is indeed an awesome movie.

  • Ah, that is a PERFECT .gif for this am.  :D  I can't stop smiling. I had a moment last night of my head in my hands, hovering over my IPad while watching the TV, clutching a cigarette in one hand and whiskey in the other.  Then, the night improved.

Yeah, I was drinking in an attempt to stop the tachycardia that was promising to break my mind. I fought with my dad just prior to voting because he thought that Romney was going to win in a landslide, so as more states were going for Romney, I started freaking out because I was not going to be wrong about this, no way, no how. And then victory!

  • I didn't even ATTEMPT to stay up.  I was all "it'll still be the same regardless" and then I remembered how I was up in 2008 texting a friend and crying (with happiness) when Obama won.  LOL.  I lost my dedication apparently. Or my heart just wasn't in it.  Either way...we have ourselves a President and I will respect it regardless. And support of course.  SUPPORT.

  • I'm tired as hell, but I had to hear the speeches. It's a good day.

Now let's get down to busines.

  • NO kidding, NOLA.  I agree.

  • I took Nyquil and went to bed at about 10.   Then I had some awful Nyquil-induced poll return dreams.  They were not good.   :::shudders:::

I had the irkiest of all my co-irkers show up in a dream last night.  Talk about about disturbing.
  • Yeah, I didn't attempt to stay up either. I found out about half way to work when the radio news finally did an announcement.

I ended up changing my mind (again) on the way home and went to vote. I really hate voting in a 'lesser of evils' mindset but I just couldn't sit by and NOT vote. I think I gave DH a headache when I tried to explain how I was feeling about the whole thing, lol.

  • Yeah, I had to take Xanax, melatonin and Benadryl to get to sleep last night. I was a little hyped up.

  • Good for you MizB.  At least you tried?  ;)

  • My IL's told us this weekend that they weren't voting.  DH pleaded with them to vote.  They were on the fence, but ended up voting yesterday.  I was very happy.
  • I went to bed at 4 this morning.  I was AMPED UP.  It didn't help that we decided not to watch the President's speech (he was being too nice and I am fully admitting that, as my FB friends know, I am glowing and gloating for 24 hours, then business can commence) and watched Ann Coulter's interview with Piers Morgan, where she had her butt handed to her and I cheered.  The friends we were with had it on DVR and we kept pausing it and shouting at the screen.  :)
  • We actually had problems voting. They told us that a voter registration card and valid Tennessee driver's license weren't enough for identification. A nonpartisan observer called a lawyer who confirmed that was enough, but the poll workers still wouldn't listen. The nonpartisan observer had the lawyer call the poll workers and get it all sorted out, but we'd already walked back home to get more forms of identification. I gave the poll worker who first denied us our vote the stink eye as I laid out a paycheck, car title, proof of insurance, water bill, driver's license and voter registration card. She got the message that she displeased me.

</div><div>I actually had a nightmare the night before about voting.  I didn't really think I'd have problems, just b/c MO wasn't a swing state anymore, but I think I had just about every legal document possible with us, JIC.

The woman who confirmed that we were in the right took our information and was reporting it, but we're probably going to report it as well. My boyfriend had just gotten a new voter registration card, so we still had the info that came with it, and it said all you need to vote is the registration card and a photo ID (and in Tennessee, it can be an expired license), so those poll workers can pretty much suck it.

  • This represents my feelings well:
  • That's some crazy shiz, ASW.

  • MizB, I'm glad you changed your mind and voted.

</div><div>And I won't be sparking up to celebrate till the weekend. I have stuff to do, yo. ;) But won't it be nice to live in the most relaxed state in the union? </div>

  • There were issues with voting in my state. Right now, there is some concern that Latino voters may have been improperly informed about what they needed to vote. We shall see what happens over the next few days.

I stayed up late. I wanted to hear the speeches, which of course made it late and I wanted to see if they have updates on a few of the close races here in the state.

DH told me last night that he knew 2 people running and a 3rd who was working on a campaign. I had no idea. The people running were complete tools and one won.
