Anyone ever been to Atlantis?

FI and I are looking into a honeymoon in the Bahamas at the Atlantis resort. The website makes it look like HEAVEN! Has anyone been there? Any advice on when or how we should book this trip? They seem to have a lot of online special offers for reduced room rates and airfare, so I'm hoping they will continue to run those special offers when it comes time for us to book the trip.

Anyone who has been there, I would love to hear your feedback! TIA!

It is beautiful--we went on a cruise and had a day there.  I will say though, for us, a day was enough.  Depends what you are looking for though.  I will say that Atlantis would be great to bring a family to, but that's just my opinion.

We also stopped there when my mom, aunt, cousin and I on a cruise for my college graduation.  We went in 2006 so they were building the newest part so I can't speak for that.  Since we were only in Nassau for a day we booked a room at the nearby hotel (I want to say Comfort Suites) which gained us access to Atlantis for cheaper than the admission price.  We checked in even though our room wasn't ready, went to Atlantis for the day, then went to our room for an hour or so to shower in a bigger shower then checked out and got back on the boat.

As for the resort itself.  I had an absolute blast!  I'm such a sucker for water parks though so I loved going on all the slides and relaxing by the pools and in the lazy river.  We also spent some time in the casino, around the shops, and going through the dig.  I definitely want to go back in the future.

How many days are you going for?

It is nice to go to for a day, I would stay in the new building. I forget what it is called but it it farther away from the water park. It is a kids playground. Too many running, yelling, smelly children. The new building has its own private pool and the families with children will be at the water park pools all day.

You should go to Sandals in Bahamas, it is 15 minutes from there. Sometimes they will give you a coupon online to go to Atlantis for the day.

We went to the Atlantis for our honeymoon and had a great time.  If you want to stay there I would recommend staying at the Cove.  This gives you access to a private beach for that hotel only and it gives you access to the 18 and over pool which had music and was fun.  If you have any other questions I can try to help.

I went there in 2008 and I believe we stayed in the Beach Tower.  It has some of the cheaper rooms but still nice.  It is a little further from the water park portion as well so it isn't that loud all the time.  There are tons of restaurants to choose from and things to do right there at the resort that you don't even need to go into Nassua which can be a little rough in parts.
