Catholic Churches that DONT require you to be members of the parish

Hi! I am getting married next August and am looking for Catholic churches in the St. Paul area that don't require you to be members of the parish.  Any ideas would be awesome!! Thanks! :)

THe Cathedral of St. Paul only requires that one or both members of the couple be practicing and registered at a parish, not theirs.  It's a ridiculously beautiful church if you're able to make it work.

I was married here and it's true... but the fee is just double what members pay.  I was already a parishioner there, so it didn't matter.  If your parents are members at a parish, you could likely get married there as well without personally needing to be a member!

I became a member of my catholic church by filling out a form at the church.  It was that easy.  Granted, I was baptized and confirmed Catholic.

thanks for the input. assumption you have to be a member of the parish and the catherdal is way to expensive for my budget.  I am a member of a church I am just looking for a more traditional looking one for my wedding.

Check out Our Lady of Lourdes, in Minneapolis. They DO require you to be a member for the discounted rate (not sure if they required it overall, but I specifically remember the paperwork listing the fee for members and non-members, which makes me think you may not both need to be members), but that's about it. In order for us to be members, we just had to fill out a form, and they sent us envelopes for monthly contributions, which my DH took care of. He actually didn't contribute every month, and when he did, it was just a few bucks. We didn't have to actually attend mass there (both lived out of state). You've got plenty of time to become a member if need be.

To have a Catholic wedding in any catholic church you have to be a member of the church or at least that's what our priest told us.  It's "Caan" law if I spelled it right.  But as for getting married at a different church, I think as long as you're a member at A catholic church, then it works.
