I need an officiant

Can anybody recommend an officiant to me? They would need to be licensed to marry in Delaware, but they can be from any state in the area, i'm getting married in Wilmington.

Journeys from the Heart is a big minister for hire business you might check out.  The Philly girls also recommend Weddings With Heart.

Also, I would highly suggest changing your name to something that does not include your first and last name- you never know the creepers on here.

I'm using Robert Faatz, he's really nice and professional, $250 and he's doing a rehearsal with us.  PM me if you want his e-mail address.

YOU CAN'T CHANGE YOUR S/N ONCE IT'S ALREADY BEEN SET!

I went through the same thing because I use my name for everything. What is it today and the talk about "creepers" on this board? Facebook is way worse than this. The thought never even crossed my mind here like it would FB or MS or anyother social site but this is the 2nd comment someone has made today and it kind of freaks me out!! People on here have G2G's which is farrrrrr more dangerous in my book! This is my wedding site! Where I want the world to know I am getting married! You can't see my address, my phone number, ss # or anything else on here. Ughhhhhhhhhh

just needed to vent... it's been driving me crazy!!

You have to create a whole new account.

The problem comes with wedding vendors.  They will find out who you are, and spam you.  Those are the creepers we are talking about.  Plus, if you use a vendor and aren't happy with their work, and your name is out there, they can make life miserable, especailly if your wedding hasn't happened.  Take it from someone who has seen it happen.

In terms of GTGs, you have to use your better judgement.  Personally, I have met some really close friends on here- two of whom are bridesmaids in my wedding.   When I started going to GTGs, I made sure that I went to ones that were in a public place first, before getting involved with helping other Knotties.

Take everything with a grain of salt.  Think of this as comparable to a internet dating site; many ppl are willing to meet others off of that, but most take precautions to get to know that person or persons well before going to their house alone.  Common sense goes a long way on here.

It's okay :)  That's why I am here; someone had to do it for me, and now I am just passing along the knowledge.

    look up www.altaredvows.com/

We met with her the other day and seems like such a great fit for us.

She does about 100-150 weddings a year so she knows her stuff.

yes, definitly change your name...though you will have to create a new account and wait like 3 days before you post anything.  My old username was lmicolucci.  Once I got married I changed it.  Of course, there aren't that many Lura's running around :).

When I went to my first G2G, back in August 2008, I was sooooo nervous.  My sister told me to bring pepperspray cause you never know what might happen.  Thank goodness there were about 10 people who showed up...those were the days.  I have to say, that before joining the knot, I didn't have many friends outside of work (other than old HS friends who lived in other states).  I now have a vast circle of friends, some who I could consider besties.  I even went to 4 knottie weddings last year alone!  We still get together quite often (heck, I'm over MrsJax's house like every weekend) and i'm actually throwing another one a bridal shower next weekend *wink wink*  Even our DH's get along which is wonderful and a lot of fun!  We go to quizzo and karaoke, and trips to IKEA.  I love my knotties!

Ok!! I did it!!!! New account is made!
It sucks I now have to do EVERYTHING all over again. But it's for the best... I don't want to piss off any vendors. That would be bad. Thanks ladies!!

and what is up with the post thing?? so annoying! and I can't update my profile either!! At least I can reply!! :)

And good job, Jenn!  Yeah, it sucks at first (I also had to recreate my knottie name, because of personal info), but it's only for a short time.

Another one that has been used by many of the Knotties on this board is Natalie Kita, from Soul Mates.  I have heard nothing but raves about her.
