Hi ladies,
The next step on my list of to-dos is booking a DJ, but I keep going back and forth whether I should hire someone or just download a bunch of music on my ipod. We would need music for the ceremony (the venue has a speaker system that includes the garden where it will take place),during dinner, and approx. 2 hours for dancing.
Is it worth it to hire a DJ? For those of you who did not, what worked and what didn't? What did you do for an emcee? Did you hire live ceremony musicians? Did anyone here use a DJ or ipod for their ceremony?
Thanks for sharing your experiences/feedback!
Re: DJ vs. iPod? Reception & ceremony music needed...

My husband and I wanted things low-key and weren't big dancers so we used an i-pod but one of our groomsman mc'd the night. My husband is in a band so they had a lot of the equipment to use.
If you want a packed dance floor all night, then a dj is the way to go. It really just depends on the vibe you want for your wedding.
I would really think about it before you decide to scrap a dj and just play music through your ipod. It worked for us but it is certainly not the ideal thing for everyone.
