Cupcake Stand?

We decided to go the fun route and have cupcakes in place of a wedding cake. However, I'm having the hardest time locating a cupcake tree. We already put down a deposit for the baker but their cupcake tree only holds 30-40 cupcakes. I need a stand that holds at least 100. The few rental places I found charges $50 for using the stand for 24 hrs. I need help finding a stand that is under $50 and isn't made out of cardboard!

Have you looked on ebay? This one is a little more than $50, but it holds quite a few cupcakes:

Besides what bet found, there isn't going to be a whole lot out there that aren't made out of cardboard OR cost over $50. You can make cardboard ones look really pretty by simply spray-painting them and using ribbon on the edges. HTH.

I bought mine on E-Bay. It was about $80, but is heavy duty clear acrylic. It holds 150-200 cupcakes and is 10 layers high. I justify the cost by rationalizing that I will sell it after the wedding....... :-)

you could make one, you could take different size glass cake stands and tier them and secure them with heavy hot glue.
