  I am having a caramel apple bar at my Sept wedding. And I'm stuck on what candy and toppings to put out. I plan on having apple slicers, bowls, and a crock pot with caramel (not exactly sure if this is how we're going to do it yet). Hopefully it won't get too messy. Here are some of the thing I have come up with...
  
  -sprinkles
  -gummy bears (just because these were my favorite when I was a kid)
  -mini m&ms
  -peanuts
  -oreos
  -candy corn
  -cherries
  -whipped cream
  
  Any other ideas???

  Mini chocolate and white chocolate chips
  walnuts, pecans, or almonds
  Cinnamon and sugar mix
  graham crackers
  Nix the whipped cream and cherries.  That's a total mess waiting to happen.
  
  Check out Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and what all their apples are.
  
  
  And also, make sure your venue will allow this.  Many will not.

  
  
  Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

  Logistics question:  the caramel will be soft when the apple goes in and then the toppings are put on.  How will it cool down and harden to take home and not be messy?

  Theyre meant to be eaten at the wedding as a desert along with the cake.  We are also having a photobooth so that is more so our favor.

  Shredded coconut, that's my favorite topping on caramel apples!
  
  Some kind of crunchies/buttercrunch/granola would be tasty, too.
