    While I think this movement is great, why is KONY being brought to light now?  This guys has been around for years doing what he's been doing and people are just realizing this/caring now?  I mean there's been tons of books written by former child soldiers all over, not just in Africa.  Again, not criticizing the movement, just the fact that what this dirtbag is doing isn't anything he hasn't been doing and getting away with for years. he's been profiled on plenty of news specials, and there was even a law and order SVU episode that took on the issue of child soldiers and sex slaves and clearly referenced and focused on the LRA.

    The creator of the video talks about his personal promise to a former Kony child to help bring justice to Kony. I would assume he had to gatehr enough footage to create the video and it happen to be in 2012. Also, Kony is still out there hurting children. I think it makes sense to keep fighting against him until he stops.

    Love this movement...April 20th is the first night of my honeymoon though, otherwise I'd totally be a part of blanketing cities with Kony stuff. I've been watching this for awhile and I'm so glad it's finally brought into the light, the awful injustice that is happening there!!!

    Be careful with the KONY 2012 movement. The Invisible Children group has a very low rating with the BBB and chairty watch groups- only 31% of their funds go to helping people. Most (millions) goes to the owners and filmmaking. 

    They also fund direct military action groups- groups that have been accused of raping and looting as well. 

    Kony is certainly a bad guy, but it's a good idea to be fully informed about all sides of the situation.

    Thanks for mentioning that Moonlight! Came in here to say something similar. Bringing the issue to light is great but be careful before you jump on the "stop KONY" bandwagon without doing research.

    Agreed. Thank you for bringing this up! So many people assume that this is great because it is a charity, but don't do their research beforehand.
