Bridesmaids' Dresses!

Hi Everyone!

When are you all starting the hunt for the bridesmaids' dresses?

I am just curious because I have a large wedding party and I feel that I should start soon! I'm talking just trying on styles right now vs. ordering and measuring (I'm thinking that'll be sometime after the new year).

What are you all doing? I figured this would be a perfect place to ask since we're all on the same schedule! Smile

    My wedding is early June 2011 and I have selected the dresses.  I did this about 1 month ago.  The order will be placed in mid-September (payment due at this time), and the dresses will take 3 months to arrive.  This will give my bms time for alterations, if needed. I also wanted to make sure I had selected the dresses early enough so I could use the color swatch for other planning, and also I wanted the girls to have enough time to have the money for the cost of the dress. 

    It was really fun looking at the dresses!

    My wedding was July 16th... I had 9 girls.  I started looking right away, and getting ideas.  I made a final decision around December, and they all ordered between January and April.

    ^ I had the same issue, so it's good to keep on the ladies about ordering the dresses... I just picked a color from David's months ago and told them to pick the style and order, but still they waited until the last minute and some of them are due in very close to the wedding date. The sooner the better I'd say.

    We went in June to order ours.  My wedding in late November.    You can pick them out whenever you'd like, but I'd be leary of ordering them too early.  Your BM's might gain/lose some weight before the wedding, so you want to be closer to your date to actually order them.

    I did mine early. I'm getting married in June 2011, but chose the dress in July and had the girls ordered them. The bridal salon I went to said the order will not be complete until all the girls payed for their dress (put a deposit down). So some girls still need to order and so the dress won't be in until 3 or 4 months after that. So I'm glad I got it done earlier than later. I also wanted it done early so I can buy jewlery to go along with them.
