RSVP vent...bound to happen

So, I must say that invites went out about 3 weeks ago, and we have received a significant amount of RSVPS back already.....unfortunately all YES...only 16 NO so far...with 116 YES.....150 people unaccounted for.....not bad considering our deadline is over a month away...

I'm so FREAKING tired of single people getting invited and RSVPing with a guest.
And they are not our friends....these are our parent's friends and/or family members...

f--ing sucks.  Ugh. Boo.  My father is letting it slide...but I told him tonight...when will it end?! he can't allow it.

ugh. boo.. blah.

(vent over)

How embarrassing, especially since they must be older and understand how formal invitations work. At least your parents are accommodating, but still...it's tacky!

I had a +4....yes seriously a +4. One of FI's parents friends wants her adult children to come with their spouses. People we purposely did not invite.  It has caused so many problems already, you have no idea.

It's ridiculous. Like my MIL wanted to invite her coworkers with their spouse. I feel bad saying no cuz she's helping a lot as are her coworkers, but I've never met a single one!! I also asked some of my single friends if they're inviting a date and they were like "I'm sure I'll find someone" wth!!!! Why?!?!?! I was hoping they would say, no, don't worry, I know weddings are expensive. I feel like putting on some invitations how many they can take, instead of leaving it to them.

I'm sorry you're going through this!!! Hang in there, things will come together and work out for the best.

Girls! I l feel ya!  We goota put our foot down!
Mine say "We have reserved  2 seats in your honor." The number depends on how many we are inviting. The single ones say "...reserved 1 seat ..."

If they don't like it, there is a "Regretfully Decline" option. Sorry!

And yes, RSVPs suck! For my bridal shower out of 110.. only ONE RSVPd. The rest I had to call. WTF?  I'm atticipating the same thing for the wedding. So I'm not even bothering with stamps on the RSVP envelopes. Etiquette Shmetiquette!

You have no idea how ridiculous and rude people can be.

One of my uncles called to ask if he could bring my cousin's inlaws!  (his daughter's husband's parents) because they were going to be in town that week.  I said I'm sorry but no, I dont even know them and this is for family and close friends only.

I guess my answer wasnt sufficient for him so he called my mom and asked her the same thing, again she told him no.

A few weeks later he called my mom AGAIN to ask the same thing, this time he offered to pay for the two extra guests!  My mom told him no AGAIN.

On the day of the wedding guess who was there with two extra guests?  Yep, he had the nerve to show up with them anyway!  My mom was furious!  Needless to say there was a LOT of drama and till this day we have not spoken to my uncle.

Mariposa Rose I did the same thing you did with the seats..I have the feeling my MIL didnt like it bc she sais that "it will confuse people" because I am not including a RSVP stamped envelope in the invitation. Instead I wrote RSVP by Oct 1 to: (emails and Phone number) because I know people dont send the RSVP and it just a waste of money..besides, we havent even send out the invites and we already have 81 RSVPs so why bother. Anyway I told her, I am doing in it anyway bc " I have talked to too many brides at the knot that are getting +1, +2, +3 because ppl are just rude like that..this way there is no chance for ppl to do this unless they call and ask..which is embarrasing for them..
