Sephora regulars--help me decide!

Tarte True Blood Palette, or UD Naked?

I have hazel eyes, and generally wear smoky plum/smoky green eyeshadow.  I'm doing my own makeup and have heard great things about both palettes, but would like to do a neutral smoky eye for the wedding.  The true blood palette has some color and neutrals, but from what I hear it is really sparkly.  I haven't been to sephora lately b/c I've been so busy with work, so I haven't seen it in person yet, nor have I seen the naked palette in person (was sold out at the time).  I like shimmery, but I don't want chunky glitter on the day of my wedding.

Help?

Re: Sephora regulars--help me decide!

  • I love the UD Naked.

I'd suggest reading the comments on them the Sephora webpage, if you havent already.
  • I have both and here's my breakdown:

Tarte TB:  the powders are very soft.  It doesn't take a lot of shadow to get a deep color.  The powders lift a little too easy, if you use your brush on one and it lifts a lot and gets into other colors.  I have to blow on my to get the pigments off other colors pretty much after each use.  But, there are so many colors you can do lots of looks.  It also comes with their eye primer and eye liner.  The primer isn't my fav, but now I know not to get it.  The eye liner is amazing!  I love it and as soon as I run out I'm buying more.

UD Naked:  I LOVE my Naked palette.  It's great for any ocassion.  It comes with an eyeshadow brush.  The pigments are good, the looks are endless, it's a must if you want your makeup to look professional.  I'm on the call list when my Sephora gets Naked2 on Jan 26th.

Basically, you can't go wrong with either one.  Sephora.com has the TB set at $36.50 with 20% off using code EXTRA so it would come to about $20, if that helps make your decision.  Then you can spend a little and get Naked!
  • Well, I haven't tried both products.  I do have the Naked palette and I love it.  I used the Naked palette for my wedding look. The shades pick up well and they last long when used with primer.   The only downside in my opinion of the naked palette is that many of the shades are sparkly.  For photography, you want to be careful not to use a lot of shimmer.

I say buy them both and see which one you like.  Sephora has a great return policy.
  • Oh I forgot about their return policy, I've never bought anything from there before, but have always wanted to.  Buying both isn't a bad idea....both products had stellar reviews, so I might as well.  Thanks ladies!

  • Not to further confuse you, but the Too faced natural palette might also be a good choice for you.  The colors are really nice and it has great ratings.  It's also a bit cheaper than the Naked palette.
  • I love UD Naked.  For my wedding though I wanted something a little different than that and got Too Faced as well.  Either kit you go with would be a great choice.

  • So I went to sephora and got the naked palette...I am IN LOVE.  The shadows are soooo smooth, like butter.  They didn't have the true blood palette at the store, might still order that online.
