Wedding Woes

i have a quick whine.

i went out to dinner with a friend.  it was to thank him for lending me his suv for the day.

the entire time, he was checking his iphone.  there were several moments in the conversation where he said, "sorry, what was that?" because he was typing on his phone.

because the dinner was to thank him for lending his car, i couldn't exactly just get up and leave.  so instead i just rolled my eyes to myself as he hunched over his phone and i enjoyed my chicken wings by myself.

dh and i need to work out more signs where it's clear i want to leave.  this under the table kicking isn't cutting it anymore.

  • maybe you should text him - not like your friend would have noticed.

    That's flat out rude.
  • Maybe you should have sent friend a text to put down the phone. Rude.
  • I hate that, and will usually say something to the person.

I also hate that anyone over the age of 14 doesn't feel the need to talk when they are around other people. It seems at every family event the kids are around, but their phones are glued to their hands.

I love when the parents snatches it from them and holds it hostage for the rest of the day.
