QOTD 2/8

If your plane was about to fall out of the sky, who would you call with your last goodbye?  Pretend your FI is with you so you can't call him.

Re: QOTD 2/8

  • Good disclaimer, because I'm pretty sure that would be almost everyone's answer. I'm going to say my Grandma.
  • That's a no brainier for me. I'd call my mom. I'm super close to her. We have always talked at least once a day mostly twice now with all the wedding stuff going on.

I'd want to tell her thanks for always supporting me and always being there for everything. I'd say I love her and so much more.

  • It would depend on the time of day. I would want to call a number where I could leave a message so Carter could listen to it and hear his mama. I wouldnt actually want to talk to anyone, I would want my last few minutes to be peaceful (as peaceful as it would be to be in a crashing plane) and I wouldn't want to hear the hurt in my parents voices or Carter's.

  • I'm kind of on the same thought level as Chelsea.  I'm not sure I'd want to physically talk to someone as much as leave a message.  And for that it would definitely be my parents, most likely my dad.
  • Definitely my parents.

  • I wouldn't call anyone. Maybe his parents, but other than that. No one.

Have you seen Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close yet? Your post reminded me of that exactly.

    Me too.

  • Gosh! That's a huge toss up between my parents and my sister...If I HAVE to choose, probably my parents. They have done so much for me, and put up with my horrible teenage years. We've gotten soo much more close while planning the wedding. I was pretty ungrateful to them for a while, but they are such great parents, and I would want to make sure they knew that.

    No... is it a movie?

  • My dad or my sister. But, like PP's I would like to leave a message so that the ones I love can listen to it as much as they want to.

  • That is an awesome thought Chelsea.  Originally I would be all for calling them, but I like the message idea so much more.  That way I can leave it for all my loved ones.  but if I had to choose one, it would be my mom.
  • I'd call my older sister. She's kind of the one who keeps everything working well in my family. I know she'd be the one who handled it best & could pass on my love and thoughts to the rest of my family.

  • I'd call my mom and tell her to take care of my son and make sure she told him all the time that I loved him and that he meant the world to me.

Oh, and I soooo want to see that movie midge.

Yes. It's about a kid dealing with the death of his father from 9/11 and going on the adventure they started before his dad died. His dad (Tom Hanks) was in the tower when it collapsed. It's also a book but I haven't read it yet. Very huge tearjerker movie.

What reminded me of it was that Tom Hanks leaves several messages on their home answering machine from inside the building. Just thinking about it makes me cry.

    SAD!!!!

  • I would call my mom.

  • It is very sad, but so worth watching. The child in this movie is brilliant.
  • My mom, hands down. I'd rather leave a message for the reasons Chelsea said, but knowing my mom, she'd feel guilty about missing the phone call and not comforting me in my last moments, and I wouldn't want her to live with that guilt.

  • I would call my parents' house. If one of them answered I would talk to them otherwise leave a message on their machine. I wouldnt try their cell phones after that. Just the one call..

    Depressing thread...

  • I would probably just spend my last moments with FI, but if I did  call anyone it would be my sister. She would be able to handle it the most. My mom wouldn't be able to handle a call like that and my dad would be ok but my parents are divorced and my mom would be pissed if I call him and not her. So definitely my sister.
