Eiteljorg museum and outdoor reception in late august/sept.

Hello!

I would love to hear from anyone about their experience getting married at the eiteljorg museum.  We are looking at late august or early september 2010 and we would like to hold the entire thing outdoors in their sculpture gardens.  What's your experience with the weather at that time of year? Is it too hot? are their bugs?

Thanks for your help!

If you ask this over on the Indiana board you might get more responses.  Not too many visit the Indianapolis board on a regular basis.

I've never been to a wedding there, but work nearby and have been there many times.  It's really a beautiful area, right along the Canal.  It's hot that time of year, but we got married August 30 and had our ceremony at 6pm to avoid the heat of the day and that worked out great for us.

I worked a wedding at the outdoor wedding gardens at the zoo a few years back in Uagyst and it was HOT. They had the wedding around 3 or 4 I think and in IN that's when it can realy start to get hot, not like noon in other places.

I think if you provided fan programs and maybe some lemonade. tea, water, or something for guests to sip on during the ceremony it would be nice. Or at least have cold drinks ready right after. My FSIL got married last Sepetember 6 and it was really nice out The sun was out and it was a little hot bu not uncomfortably so, and they got married in a park in Terre Haute and bugs were no problem. Good Luck!
