Question...

So I am getting married in about a month, and am trying to (finally?)  get started on my wedding programs, which brought up a question...

My father passed away in June, and I am having his best friend walk me down the aisle.  I am just not sure about wording and placement in the programs...bridal escort? It just doesn't sound right to me, and I couldn't really find any examples of programs for similar situations...

Re: Question...

  • I think I would probably put it in a sentence.  If everyone knows who he is, "____ will walk/ escort the bride down the aisle."  If some people don't know him, "____, best friend of the bride's late father, will walk the Bride down the aisle."
If you don't want a sentence, I'd say "Escorting the bride: ____"
To me, "bridal escort" seems a bit ... odd.

As for the order, I would put it in the order of the events.  So maybe have the processional info (i.e. music selections, bridal party names), then this piece, then the order of the ceremony, then the recessional info.
