A couple of month's ago we found out that our 14 year old black lab had spleen cancer. Well my parents got home from the wedding week last night around 7:30pm and Rocky was fine but by 10:30pm they (with my brother) were at the emergency vet because he started to just lay around and not move at all. I got the call at 10:45 pm that they were going to have to put him to sleep. Something ruptured and he had fluid in his abdomen. I asked my brother to tell Rocky that I love him, and he did. I felt bad asking him to do that but I wanted Rocky to know I was there even I really couldn't be. I can't believe he's gone. We got him when I was 11 years old, I've always called him "my brother"
I honestly believe that he waited until after the wedding because it was something on my mind. I knew that if this happened before the wedding I would be really upset and not focused. I also thank God that my parents were home (they were out of town for an entire week for the wedding). I believe that he waited for my parents to be home as well.
I'm worried about dog Rudy (who is 9), he has always had Rocky. I hope he doesn't feel sad for long.
I will post about my wedding day (which was great) and pictures later...I don't feel like it now =(
