Re: slowwwwwwww weight loss

  • How tall are you? What is your exercise routine? What is the worst food you're eating? (no. I don't want the play-by-play of all the good stuff.. tell us the WORST stuff and how frequently) What's your bf% ?
  • 5'2
    cardio 30mins and weights 20mins 5x a week
    eggs/turkeybacon/banana (breakfast)
pretzel bagel with 2%cheese turkey pepperoni 6slices, yougurt and rice cakes (lunch)
    salad/pork chop (or chicken)/half baked potatoe/veggie (dinner)
    cereal (snack)
  • You're eating a LOT of grains with not many veggies I would like to point out (pretzel bagel, rice cakes, cereal to you're... maybe one "veggie"  ? )
Everyone's bods are different, but I didn't see a significant fat loss change until I made my diet more veggies than grains (in fact, I usually eat only one thing of grains a day IF THAT, and it's grapenuts on a rush morning :P ).
It takes a long time to mess with the body and figure out what works for you. That two me two years to figure out and master. I'm still learning.
Don't get discouraged! Just keep logging and giving yourself a couple months of eating/working out one way before you switch to the next. Sometimes it takes a good month for your bod to kick itself into gear.
  • ok..so can you give me some help to add some more veggies into my day? i am a very picky eater and i eat these same things every single day ..i am not really a change it up kinda person
  • I watched a show last week that suggested adding a zero to the end of your goal weight to see how many calories you should eat. If you're eating 1800 calories, you'll end up at 180 pounds with this logic.

Also, compare the nutritional info of your turkey bacon to regular bacon. Some brands are just as bad as regular bacon.

What are you putting on your salads? I'm the type who has to have lots of cheese and dressing, so I don't eat them anymore. I also used to eat at Chipotle thinking it was health food. My three tacos were 1900 calories!

<div>that.. is kinda dumb... What show was this? </div><div>
</div><div>Like Sopraffina said, some stuff may SEEM better, but isn't. For example, a nonfat yogurt with a bunch of added chemicals is definitely worse than the regular full fat stuff with two ingredients. </div><div>
</div><div>What veggies do you like? It may be time to branch out and try to fix your picky eating habits. THere are far too many delicious foods in the world for you to go your whole life without trying!! </div>

It's not really a good idea to eat the same exact foods every single day. You're likely missing out on key nutritional categories (certain vitamins/minerals/fats) which is making it harder for your metabolism to work more efficiently.

The best way to help yourself is to look into eating more vegetables and fruits. Both of these have great nutrients, electrolytes, and phytochemicals in them which will help you out a lot -- and not just in losing weight.
Also try to vary your diet between 3 different favorite meals (per meal time) throughout the week so you're getting a wider variety of nutrients.

You can also consider multi-vitamins, but those are less effective than just supplementing the foods into your actual diet.

  • Im with ya on the slow weight loss. Im 5ft even and im finally  down to 147. I had a miscarriage on Vday and ever since then the lbs have slowly started coming off. Ive been using the at home body wraps to speed up the inch loss process. So far so good lol. Drinking lots of water to keep the inches off.

    </div><div>Thank you.</div><div>
</div><div>It was Cook Yourself Thin on the Lifetime Network. My point was that 1800 calories a day for a 5' 2" woman seems kind of high. I'm 6' and am very overweight, and sparkpeople suggests 1540-1890 for me.
