Hotels for out of town guests

We are having our wedding and reception at Salvatores in Lincoln park and im looking for some hotel recommendations for out of town guests. i called hotel indigo and reserved a block of rooms but looking for two other options that would be nice but not too pricey... i called the Belden Stratford three times and no one has called me back. Any other oprtions anyone could recommend? Also looking for a place for us to stay the night of the wedding

Our wedding is in the suburbs, so I can't give any advice about wedding blocks .  For you and your FI--I would suggest Hard Rock Hotel or Swisshotel. I've stayed at both.

I am having my block done at the Courtyard Marriot Downtown, its 2 blocks off Michigan so its cheaper then being on the Mag Mile, but its still close by for guest. That was my mom's big thing that the hotel be close to Michigan Ave (mainly because the OOT guest are her family and friends).  They are very accommodating there and have really worked with me.  I am getting my room for free there.

Whenever we stay downtown, we always stay at Club Quarters. The rooms are very small but inexpensive- the range is $60-100. We have always had pleasant experiences. You technically have to be a member but if you call them they will help you find somewhere that you are associated with that has a membership (Big 10 schools all have memberships). My friend used it for her wedding (which is how we found out about it) and we have loved it ever since then. They don't have a shuttle for the guests, but they are near lots of public transportation. Plus the locations are amazing.

The Hyatt Regency on Wacker will usually give you room blocks for around $99/night.

good selection of all the decent places in LP..I like the Hawthorne  Terrace BW   3434 n Broadway....like a boutique hotel, very cute, decent prices..also  the . Villa D Citta on Halstead and the Willows on Surf..all very nice and elegant without breaking the bank.

If you have any guests whod like to stay in a group a condo is cheaper and much nicer than most hotels if 4 or more are renting it..try Craigs List under vacation rentals and vbro.com..my out of town pals rented a 5 bedroom  luxury house for the weekend that cost half what 4 hotel rooms would have cost and it was gorgeous!

I found a website that takes your requirements (# of rooms, dates), and automatically bids it out to 100+ hotels in Chicago. Then it emails you when bids have been received. So far it's worked well for me:

I used hotel planner.com but then just contacted hotels directly. We have the holiday inn for single people and stragglers and then the crown point plaza for family. Don't forget to tell out of town peeps about parking cost!
