***rdr*** and all other east coast knotties

I just heard there is a mandatory evacuation of part of New Jersey. I don't know if it's near you, but be safe and I'll keep you and all knotties on the east coast in my T&P!

[QUOTE]I'm a few blocks away from a "B" evacuation zone in NYC. So I'm not planning on going anywhere. We need to get some water and batteries. Otherwise, we're okay I think. I have a lot of frozen food and our gas stove will work without electricity. However, it's really looking like the entire transit system is going to be shut down. The Wall Street Journal is saying as early as Saturday afternoon until sometime on Monday. So if I need to evacuate, I'm sort of screwed. As are most of the city's residents who do not have cars and need to rely on public transportation to get somewhere safe. We're supposed to go out on Long Island for a birthday party tomorrow afternoon, but I honestly don't think it would be smart to go out there if we aren't sure that we can get back home. Maybe we should also stock up on beer.

Especially this. I hope everybody stays safe! I'm lucky enough to be in PA (haa), so all we get is the rainy leftovers.

    Thanks CCO!!

Just heard my city will decide by noon tomorrow if we need to evacuate or not. We're going to pack some stuff for ourselves & our furbabies tonight just in case. BF is fueling up the car on his way home. We're also going to stock up on some stuff right after work today.

My company sent an email out saying we might not be in on Monday (which is crazy because in this business, we don't close). I talked to one of the managers of my building & he said that in 91 the tropical storm caused flooding up to the doors of the building & this is going to be 10x worse than that.

I live right near my office so now I'm really worried about everything in my basement! I feel like I probably should have starting preparing yesterday....

    Stay safe everyone!!!!!

I'm envisioning being huddled up in a bunker...wasted as hell and munching away in between make out sessions. What hurricane? =)

lol We had an increase in births after the 2004 hurricane season in Florida. What else are you supposed to do when there's no power and everything is shut down? :-)

Stay safe rdr and the rest of you ladies. I hope all you end up with is a little bit of rain and a whole lot of media bust!

    Thanks everyone!!

I like the idea of getting drunk, playing board games & having sexytimes all day Sunday so I'm really hoping they don't make us evacuate. If they do, we'll be headed to my grandmom's in DE where we won't be getting drunk OR having sexytimes hahaha

Yaga - I would suggest stocking up on red wine instead since you can drink that at room temperature. :)
