i didn't propose to my DH, but he did - and without a ring *gasp*.
we had our engagement rings custom designed after getting engaged. i was surprised that my husband wanted an engagment ring to wear over our 18 month engagement, but he really wanted the ring and still tends to wear it these days over his more plain wedding band.

he's actually much more diligent about wearing his ring, as i often forget to wear mine.
