September Siggy Challenge!

Hey April 2013 ladies!!! I'm jealous. I see all these other boards running around (okay, well not running) with their siggy challenge pictures and my signature is lame with just a ticker! After a bit of research, I've come to determine that these siggy challenges are discussed on the month boards. So, here I am on my month board to have a discussion about the siggy challenge!!! I think we should do it! Since it will be our first (unless I've missed something) month with a challenge, I think we should do something basic. Like, maybe the inspiration for your wedding colors or your dress or.... Any ideas? Let's hear it and decide!!!

We talked about this like a year ago when there were something like 6 of us on the board and could not come to a consensus. Personally, I'm down for whatever, as long as we have a tutorial on how to add said signatures. I think most of us have our venue picked out. How about that for starters?

I am still trying to figure out how to put a picture in the signature.

Okay I figured out how to do it. I used photobucket to upload my pic since I allready had an account. I had to resize the picture in Microsoft Office picture editor first to a smaller size either the size "small size for email" or "small size for web" seem to look okay on the site. Paste the html code from the uploaded pic and done!

Okay ladies, venue it is! Unfortunately I can't put a picture in mine just yet, since I'm at work. Stupid blockers!!! But, I'll try to give instructions so you guys can do yours!!!

--Okay, first you have to find the picture that you want! You can find it online or anywhere really. If the picture you want is already on your computer then you're already ready for step 2! If you find your picture online, you'll need to save it to your computer. Right click on the picture that you want and click "save picture as..." and give it a name.

--Now you'll want to save this picture somewhere online. Save the picture to photobucket, shutterfly, snapfish, etc. The benefit of using these picture sites is that they give you a web address for your picture. So, it's like your own url that should take you directly to your picture (that way TheKnot.com will be able to find your picture when you use it in your signature, it can't find your picture off of your computer). To get this url, right click your picture in photobucket (whichever site you chose) and it should give you the option to copy the url. (Not too sure about this step as I'm unable to do it right now.) Your url should end in .jpg, so if it does, you should be okay!!

--Take the url that you have copied from photobucket and paste it into tinyurl.com, you will then be given a new url which is still your picture, just a bit smaller!! You will have to copy this new url which should look something like this "http://tinyurl.com/95jf9dj" into your html code. The website will read the html code and know it is an image and pull it into your signature. The code that you will have to use is:
<img src="http://tinyurl.com/95jf9dj" width="180px"></img>

Now, you will obviously put your tinyurl code where mine is and you can also change the number 180 as this just tells the picture how wide it is allowed to be, i.e. 180 pixels.

--You will then copy this whole html code (<img src....etc, etc,) into your signature box. As you are reading this post, look on the left hand of your page. Under community links, there is a link called "Update Signature" click on that. This will take you to a page where you can change your avatar or update your signature! Copy and paste your html code into the signature box and it should show just fine when you post on this page. Test it out!!!

Keep in mind that html code has to be 100% perfect, character by character, so if you have one thing out of place... It will not work. Be patient and keep trying!! I'll be back after work to try mine and maybe I'll be able to help out some more!!! Woohoo April 2013!!!!

If my instructions are less than helpful, check out some of these other people's instructions and hopefully between mine and these you are able to make this work!!

Just type it right in there. Or, if you want to use html use < p /> Words, words, words April 2013, Sigy Challenge (or whatever you want) </p> I also added a couple of spaces after mine. To do spaces use < br > just once wherever you want a break in your words. :)

If only my reception venue was actually completed...lol It has just completed the demo phase - they're clearing out an old bank and making it into an event venue (with the original marble!)! So right now, even tho I have pictures...they're not so pretty
