Good morning! Last night I had to part with my e-ring for a week. The shape of it is unique, so no wedding band fits it. So last night we started the process of custom designing my wedding band! They had to take my e-ring for a week to start a mold. I will get it back for a little while, but then I will have to part with my e-ring again for up to 12 weeks!! Not happy about that. Hopefully it will be worth it! Other than that, I don't have anything to do until we go home for Christmas. Then we will be very busy! I will have my first dress fitting, and we'll have our food tasting, picking out tuxes and getting all the guys measured, getting e-pics done, and making the invites.

I hit a slow patch where I don't really want to do anything.  I need to finish my Save-the-Date magnets - I have all the prints, I need to finish cutting them up, need to buy more magnets, and I need to attach them and cut them out.  Then I need to get envelopes, address them, and mail them.  So yeah, a lot still to go.  I'm debating just sending them in January since we do still have a lot of time, and now we're in Christmas card season and I don't want them to get lost in the mail.

I still have to book the tent, but I don't want to because I'm pouting.  The one I really want is way out of my budget, and I don't like the ones I can afford.  So I'm currently just not booking a tent.  Not very mature of me, but I just don't feel like it.  I personally would rather have dancing in open air with fairy lights, but my parents really want the tent as a back-up for bad weather.  I figure we can always order a tent that week if it looks like we're going to have bad weather.  Anyone have input or experience with this?  Should I suck it up and just order a plain ol' tent?

I also need to book chair rentals.  I figure I should do that soon, but I'm just not feeling motivated to do it.

I've got to create invitations at some point and figure out how I want to print them.  Again, not feeling very motivated currently.

My dress came in, and I think that's part of the root of my lack of motivation.  I have no one to go with me to try on the dress, so I'm just feeling kind of blah about planning in general.  It's like if I wait long enough, there might be someone to do these things with me.  It makes no logical sense, but that's about where I am.

Oh thanks, Hike! Haven't seen this type of thread in a while. So yesterday a friend of mine came over so we could decorate the ornaments(favors) and they turned out pretty good. My handwriting isn't that bad but use a marker thing on a round object and it was a breeding ground for disaster. She is crafty though and did a great job helping, so I think I'm going to take her up on the offer of making all of my floral arrangements/bouquets. I'll post a pic of the ornaments in a few.

Invitations finally went out last week(thanks to the company for screwing up the first order and having to re-do the entire thing), and friday/saturday I got back 5 freakin RSVP envelopes. Like, the invitation envelopes had to have come open and the insides all came out. So the stupid post office in Pensacola just fed the darn envelopes and one rsvp card through the machines, wasting the postage, right back to me. So now I have no idea if they closed those 5 invitations back up and sent them anyway or if 5 people aren't getting their invitations because they came open and fell apart. GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Frustrating. I only sent 32, and 5 are obvioulsy wasted or close to it. Stupid post office, tape, and sticker seals that didn't seal the envelope. RSVP date is tomorrow. I think everyone is going to be late. Ok, sorry that rant's over.

Let's see, what else....Oh! I hired a planner/coordinator for $300. She's new to it but just went through this all for the past year, she had a wedding similar to mine in formality/style September, and she knows the podunk town where the wedding is. I think it's a great deal since our venue is completely DIY and we're going to need organized help, but FI isn't reall coming around to it. He doesn't understand how stressful things are(and are going to be the week/day of) and he thinks it's a waste of money. Whatevs. It was my personal *spending cash* I've been putting back to splurge for myself for wedding stuff. So there. That's all I can think of right this second but I'm sure I'll have more as the day goes on!

EDIT: Picture! They're in the case but you can still kind of see them. Each of them are a bit different since we kept trying new styles. I rab out of ribbon though so I'll have to get more then take 3/4 of them back out and add that.

I'm kind of with Sami - I'm in a slow patch. I can find anything else to do but wedding stuff. Just completely unmotivated and just sort of blah.
I need to go buy mason jars actually and do a test run to see if I want to wrap them with lace or not. I also need to get another two packages of votive candle holders and twine. I also need to figure out if I want table runners on the tables or not - I'm thinking I will. But.. then comes the decision of what color - pewter or a coral. or burlap (im obsessed with the look - but it doesnt match)
Other than that - things are pretty much done for the most part to be honest. We go in December to do the Tux thing. My bridesmaid ordered her dress about two weeks ago (thank god). I'm talking with my FMIL on the RD. My invitations came in last week so we are going to start trying to figure out how to address them.
I'm actually signing us up for PreCana classes and Natural Family Planning classes today. I found out some interesting information last night from my RCIA teacher so I'm just waiting for answers now. He's also getting me the number for the music director so I can book them for the ceremony music. Awesome news is is he doesnt charge, so we'll just give him a pretty stipend.
Other than that.. things are slow. I just am so unmotivated to do anything lately. My dress should be coming in next month and then Ill have fittings in Jan and Feb. We got both of our bands in, FI's came in last week and they had to reorder it because it was too big and FI bought mine last week. That's really it. Oh and I need to figure out what to stuff our favor jars with.

Hmm, Cal why don't you call the rental place and ask them if they have an idea of short notice availability? That way they might tell you a week or so out is no problem and you don't have to deal with it until then. Or they might say, no they all get rented and you'd be SOL.....sorry about your dress!! My first "you can come look at it" appointment was with my BM but then all my fittings were done alone. It sort of sucked until I got there and was prancing around in it!

I'm in major photobook mode to make sure our parents albums are done in time for Christmas! Got a great deal on a MyPublisher book last night, I love them.

I'm trying to decide if we even want to do a wedding--I've planned so many big events at work that I realize that I get stressed worrying about all the details, and I'm not sure I want to do that to myself.  I think I could be happy doing a JOP or very very private and simple ceremony with just us saying our vows and then hosting a great party at our favorite bar/restaurant to celebrate with all our family and friends.  I realize that the party is the expensive part, but not having to decorate (and really only having to choose food that we know we already like) would be a huge relief to me.

People keep asking me if we've set a date and how wedding planning is coming along and I always have to respond "No date, and no planning!  I don't even know if we're going to do the whole wedding deal!"  Maybe I'll change my mind and get into it...reading about everyone else's weddings is fun though :)

Seriously, guys. Vegas is looking SOOO good to me right now. I am up to my EARS in wedding stuff, and I am so unmotivated! It took soooo long and I was just like, DUDE, keep it simple! We're getting married in a FARM for goodness sake! This is no black tie event! But nooooooo.... mrs. perfection was being perfect. I love her dearly, and shits gonna look awesome after all of this, but I keep feeling like, even if we didn't do all this craziness, it would be just as good. IDK, I think I am the opposite of every bride right now. NOT caring if everything is perfect. Sigh... I just want to get married. Oh and, ANDDDD, this wedding stuff is totally getting in the way of my Knotting! OH.HELLS.NO. BTW, I have made the decision to NOT go to the Nest once I do get married. I feel like I would be dumping you guys like last weeks newspaper if I did that. Does anyone else feel that way? LOL I heart you guys hard time.

We're in the home stretch of finding out if FI is still in or not. This will pretty much decide most everything. We put all wedding planning on hold as of the first of September because we can't set a date or really decide a place or style until we know if he stays in, and after that, where he goes. Don't get me wrong, we'll get married regardless, but if he's not in we'll probably have to postpone so that we can move from here (there's really nothing keeping us here and cost of living isn't great) and get jobs in a new market. If he's in, I know we'll move, and I'll probably be planning long-distance. I know there's planning stuff I can do without knowing a date, but it's actually starting to depress me when I think about it because so much is up in the air.

In happy news, my best friend from school has asked me to be the godmother to her children (both being baptised at the same time).

Good afternoon ladies! Hope everyones having a good day!

    - I am currently working on 2 things that I want done while FI is home in a few weeks. Since I had weight loss surgery I can't do cake tasting or any food related things, so he gets to choose the cake while hes home. He already said he wanted peanut butter cake or frosting! Puke. I am suprised at how expensive cakes are but oh well.
-The other major thing is e-pics. I want them done so bad when he comes home in 2 weeks. I can't find a photographer thats cheap that has anything open during this time! I emailed about 7 different people today so hopefully I will receive a response back. I also REALLY want to do a budoir shoot for him as part of his wedding gift, so I am trying to set that up now as well.

Lastly, my cousin's wife owns a business called "Lovely Lollies". She has offered as part of our wedding gift, make cake pops in any flavor or colors we want. This take a huge weight off my shoulders since besides the coasters I am using for seating arrangements, I couldn't think of anything else. She will also get me a great deal on my invitations and programs as she works hand and hand with someone who does them!

Thanks Sami, I really wasn't trying to be all wah-wah (insert Debbie Downer face here), it's just getting so close, and I was hoping to have news by Thanksgiving so we'd know where we stand for Christmas (especially in terms of spending money and such). But, such is the military. I'm super pumped about this Godmother thing, though, I'm going to meet the baby for the first time this weekend. Squeeeee!

IF I may threadjack for a sec: Crafty ladies, does anyone know how to re-dye a sweater that has been exposed to Drano? I was in Target last night and needed to pick up some Drano for our tub. I picked up a bottle to read it and it was broken and leaked onto my sweater, effectively removing the color from the spot (it looks like a smudge, over my boob) it hit. I bought some RIT dye and tried to dye it in the sink (sweater is black, cotton blend), I thought it had worked, but once I did the final wash, the stain is still there. Any suggestions on how to salvage it?

DMB - the only thing I've ever been able to mask bleach stains with is a permanent marker of the same color.  And you'll still always be able to tell.  If anyone has a better solution, I've got a pinkish-red shirt that I'm dying to fix!

I almost forgot! So, I got an email a while back from CVS offering 20 free prints if you got them from your FB account at the kiosk. So FI and I both signed up so we could get 40-the perfect number to include in our invitations. The first time we went, their systems were down so they had to give us a rain check(the coupon was expiring that day). The second time, it almost crashed while I was using it. They figured it out after nearly an hour, but then they printed all glossy and I wanted matte finish. After all the hassle of trying to get them to give me 40 more for free, we said eff it and left with our glossy pictures. So Monday morning I wake up, I'm drinking my coffee and checking on all of you knotties and what do I see right next to the computer??? The CVS envelope with all of the pictures still in it. I was SO stressed trying to hurry and get the invitations out since they were so late that I forgot to even put the stinkin pictures in them. So, I'm trying to figure out what to do with 40 glossy 4x6 photos of FI and I. I'm trying to cross things OFF my to-do list, not add to it! I can laugh about it today, but Monday I was super pissed, to say the least. Someone please tell me this crap is normal. Nothing has been crazy stressful yet and it just seems like the past 2 weeks or so I've been freaking about how close we're getting and how little I actually have done.

Hello Ladies! (I always think of the old spice guy when I say that ...)

I have been addressing my STDs, I will AW them because I love them. They have the info and normal post card stuff on the back and I won't bore you with it.. but the front is super cute!  The one of the actual STDs has been edited to make the grass a little more consistant;y green

...I'm having some problems though, I keep wanting to add more people, and have second thoughts about the people I am inviting, like they expect to get invited. I know I should have said "Oh, it's just a small thing" but I'd be lying. =/  I guess I'm mostly having second thoughts because some of my friends aren't getting along right now. Putting me in the middle and talking behind people's back.. wtf, are we in middle school? Grow UP!!!! At least I'll have security at my wedding in case sh!t hits the fan.

I also AW'd my  BM bouquet last weekend. I'll do it again because I'm really proud of how it came out...I need to figure out how to store them for 5 months.

I just got word that FIs dad is going to be in town for Thanksgiving.  He was going to do our Epics, so I'm so excited, Tulsa is SOOO pretty this time of year with the leaves changing. I just got to figure out what to wear... eekkk.

Finally, our priest has been MIA, we were supposed to meet with him over thanksgiving but he hasn't been in the office for the past week and a half so we can't call to confirm that we are meeting. A little frusterating.

    Happy Wednesday!

We registered for gifts this past weekend and since then I have been adding and tweaking the list almost every day. It's fun though. :)

Also trying to get an absolute final guest count so I can start getting addresses together and start addressing the StD cards.

And I need to find a local seamstress to fix my dress exactly the way I want it.

And...have to start researching bakers for our cake.

Oh I forgot that I REALLY want to try and take E pics. Hope that it works out so we can send them out with the StD cards.
    :)

Gah, yes!  I went to a friend's wedding in DC last weekend, and it was soooo detail oriented.  It was Style Me Pretty meets Pinterest.  It was amazing, and totally intimidating!  She had hired a wedding planner and a whole wedding planning team, so they did all these amazing little detailed pieces that tied together perfectly.  I will never be able to integrate all the details that smoothly.

Let's see if I can grab some pictures... she is an author and her husband is a playwrite, so they had a book theme.  It was awesome...
