Boulder and surrounding venues

Looking for a great outdoors venue in Boulder or in the surrounding areas.  The catch is that I would also like and indoor space in case the weather takes a turn in the summer.  Any suggestions? My budget is largest for venu and catering so I am some what flexible.

I am using The Preserve at Bingham Hill.  It is in Fort Collins, not sure if that is too far out of your way.  Although, it is very beautiful.  It is a tree farm with beautiful landscaping and three different places outdoors to have the ceremony and a full size gym to have the reception.  They have a tent that is available in case of bad weather.  I am getting married there Sept 25 this year.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.  Also, look at wedding sites and services website.  That is where I found that venue.

Thanks for the feedback on venues.  I have looked into Lionscrest and love the view-still considering!  Never heard of Peaceful Valley?  Where is this located?  Preserve at Bingham sounds great but unfortunately it is a little further than I would like.

Try Christie's of Genesee.  It's not in Boulder, but it is right up I-70 on the front range.  They have a beautiful outdoor area and should the weather turn bad, the ceremony is easily moved indoors.  We are getting married there 8/13/10 and couldn't find another place to compare with 1) the price 2) the service 3) the scenery!  Good luck!

I live in Boudler and had my wedding ceremony in Boulder.  One place I looked at was the St. Julien Hotel.  I was adamant about not having my reception at a hotel, but thought i would check it out anyway.  They have both outdoor and indoor and their prices were pretty darn good comparitively (esp. for a 4 star hotel).  Oudoors there is a fanastic view of the mts.  We ended up using The Chateaux at Fox Meadows, but St. Julien was 2nd on our list.

Also, depending on the moth you are getting married Chataqua has a quaint feel to it.  The summer months is usually booked with their music festival.

One recommendation I can make is to avoid Pastures of Plenty farm in Longmont.  The owner is extremely arrogant and very difficult to work with.  My fiance and I were going to get married there and then it fell through.  As I have told others about the behavior of the Pastures of Plenty owner and Big Bang Catering they all tell me this is a blessing in disguise.  I wish I had known this before I even contacted them in the first place.

    Good luck!

I absolutely disagree with the sentiments about Pastures of Plenty.  I was married there this summer and everything was perfect--the food, staff, and beauty of the venue were amazing.  The owner is neither arrogant nor hard to work with, but he is a busy farmer and caterer, so if you expect an email response in 5 minutes, you won't.  But what you will get is seasonal, local food prepared just to your liking, a location that is unbeatable, and staff that is personable and professional.  Our guests continue to rave about our day, and I can honestly thank Pastures of Plenty for their role in making it a perfect day.
