E-Pics Disaster - What do I do?

Hey Sissys!

So FI just sent me a text that he isn't excited about this shoot on Sunday and he doesn't want to do it, can't we reschedule. I told him no. The reason our wedding website isn't up is because we're waiting to do these pictures. We scheduled 3 weeks ago for this sunday and he's known about it. The issue is he doesn't like taking pictures. I see that as a freakin' cop out! He never liked taking them, but get over it. Who doesn't like being in front of a camera?!?! I do!

I've been so excited and looking forward to this Sunday and he just really rained on my parade. I know if we reschedule, he's gonna try to reschedule again and again, so why not get it over with now and don't have to worry about it? This is the prime reason as to why we needed an engagement shoot and exactly why I changed photographers. I know that once we get started he's not even going to think about the camera's being there, but its just the fact he's making such a big deal out of nothing. OMG his mom just spoiled him rotten! What can I do w/ this man???? He's so anti social and just blah. UGH

THAT SUCKS!!! does he drink or have a fave restaraunt? Bribe him with something he likes. that's what'd i'd do.

THIS right here!!!! I'm sure he'd hit me with either a bottle of Ciroc, 1800 Coconut, or Hennessy VSOP, but at least i'll get him to do what I want. LOL

And this is the same FI that said you don't have any swag? smh

Just tell him you're not canceling and also explain to him that this means alot to you and really it's just practice for the wedding. It's a way for the both of you to get comfortable in front of the camera and also for the photographer to get comfortable with the two of you. This way your wedding pictures would be on point.

Then if it were me, I would insert a bit of sarcasm and say "if at any time you feel excruciating pain, I promise you just say the word and we will stop!" :-)

But I wouldn't stress it...I think he's going to go and he's going to have fun.

I hope so. This is so frustrating and shouldn't be. He then just sends a text back that says i haven't seen your clothes or met the photographer. I said dude YOU SAID you didn't want to do any wedding stuff u just said tell me where to be and you would show up. So if that is the case, call her and go meet her at her studio on your off day before sunday.

I agree with the bribing and stressing how important it is. I bribed mine with ice cream. We actually did the second half of the shoot at an ice cream shop and sharing a cone and at the end we went back and got him his very own ice cream cone......yeah mine is a spoiled brat too!

I just told him that I understand he doesn't like doing things he doesn't want to do and that he doesn't like pictures. This has been something I have been looking forward to and I don't get passionate about much, so hope that he can see in his heart how it will make me feel. I said we don't have to talk about it anymore, my phone battery was low. LOL

Girl, my FI didn't want to do them either, but he quickly got over it. Once the camera started rolling he was okay. Since FI didn't want to do it, I told the photographer that I didnt want to have our session long and drawn out with all the wardrobe changes. We only had 1 outfit, and our session was 45min - 1hr. I knew that if he was unhappy, it would be portrayed in the pictures, and I did not want to risk that.

Find images on the internet that he could look at to see that he doesn't have to look directly at the camera in every shot...face to face, you hugging him with your face showing and your hand on his head showing off your bling, you two walking hand in hand showing your backside, of course on of yall kissing...if you have a great photographer they work to make the both of you all comfortable and hopefully he will relax and be so into you he will chill on the camera! Good luck!! Let your photographer know about his dislike for pictures and they will figure something out!

I told her this up front before I contracted her. Its a husband and wife team and she says her hubby is so good with having the guys chill out that eventually they don't even realize the camera is going. Her pics are so awesome I just am so nervous about this. One thing I didn't need to be nervous about. LOL

He will come around once you get to the shoot and he will end up having a lot of fun. My guy is "sometimey" like that also. And very contrary if it is something I REALLY want to do he will sometimes go out of his way to "downplay" the importance of it all.

So I just go even HARDER for it when he does that. I get overly enthusiastic and helpful (without being condesending of course) and I am FIRM but fair.
If this were me, I'd be telling FI that the deposit for the pics has already been paid and is non-refundable at this point if we cancel due to the last minute notice. I'd also stress the importance of how this is not about HIM but about the two of YOU - Together. Part of being married, is being flexible on the big things and the small ones too.
