booking honeymoon

I'm so overwhelmed with this honeymoon business.  How did you decide where to book?  How did you book it?  I also don't know which destinations require a passport.

I'm looking for an all-inclusive, flight+hotel/resort 3-5 day package for under $2000.  Is that realistic?

Any recommendations on where to go? Local resources (i.e. travel agencies)?

You may want to post this on the honeymoon board, you will get alot of help and recs from those ladies.

If you are travelling out of the US, then you must have a passport. You said you are looking for all inclusive, which doesnt exist in the US, so you might as well go ahead and get your passports if you dont have them already :)

Some tips that I found while researching - if you go to Mexico, you will get way more bang for your buck. The Caribbean Islands are absolutely gorgeous, there is nothing like it - but it can be pretty pricey to go there and stay at an AI. We have only gone there on cruises.

Your price is tight but its doable. I recommend checking into Cancun or Playa del Carmen Mexico. Just start researching online, or find a travel agent to help you (they dont cost anything). I used a company I found online - VIP Vacations and I was very happy.

    Good luck!

    Try applevacations.com

That will give you an idea of whats available.  tripadvisor.com is very helpful as well.  I found a few that might work in your budget.

Check out excellence-resorts.com   They have 3 all-inclusive and they look fabulous!!  The reviews are amazing and the price is great.  They have a FB page too and their customer service is great.  Have taked to several people who totally love them and go back year after year.  We will find out for ourselves in September!

We booked a week long all inclusive in Jamaica for $1600 and then got airfare separately so your budget is totally possible on that site. They were so cheap that I searched reviews on them and checked them with the California bureau of travel where they are registered to make sure they are legit and they definitely are.

I would check cheap Caribbean. I think the Dominican Republic or Mexico are your best bets.
The price will depend on where you are flying from, where you are traveling to, and the hotel you stay at, but I think $2000 should be doable.
The best thing to do is spend some time checking different spots/hotel qualities to get a feel for how much things cost. Good luck!

I second excellence resorts. Right now they are rates as one of the top five all inclusive resorts on orbits. My sister went there last year for her honeymoon and her pictures are unreal. I grew in Florida and did a lot of vacationing in the caribeen but her pictures were unlike any place I've ever see. She didn't pay a lot either.
