May brides-what are you doing to stay in shape?

Hey Girls,

So we are almost in the home stretch!! My one month countdown is next wednesday and I am trying to do as much as I can to look my best on the big day. I was thinking about doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred since I will have 30 days to complete my work out and also adding a little kickboxing/running here & there. Anyone else have ideas?

  • Congrat girl im also a May 4th bride!! :)) And I was thinking the same thing what to do to loose another quick 5-10 LBS. I'm thinking im still going to focus on eating healthy and take my daughters on a daily jog around the neighborhood. The Jillian Michales work out sounds interesting i'll have to check it out! good luck and congrats!

This! I am doing a 10K on April 22nd which forces me to go running 2-3 days a week.

Also - go to spinning classes if they are offered near you. Go twice a week and you will see results quickly. I like the classes because they really push you and I am always drenched in sweat afterwards - great workout!!!
  • I've been going to Zumba twice a week, but I can't workout for two weeks :( Then I'll head back to Zumba and hopefully bootcamp my zumba instructor is running. Plus, I'll continue with the 30 day shred, which is a decent workout. I also like to add in a kettlebell workout.
  • 30 day shred is a great workout! It's short so you can't make excuses, but it's effective! If you're trying to loose less than 10 lbs have pretty much plateaued with what you're doing now, her Making the cut program is great. You have to be really committed to that one though, it's a tough program. Personally, I take LesMills classes through my gym, mostly Body Pump RPM to maintain. I'm am trying to tone up some more for the big day, but loosing a few more lbs would be fine with me! Good luck!
  • I've been doing jogging or my exercise bike to get my cardio in and just to help relieve stress too! I've also been trying to get in three days a week of toning exercises, since I also only have a month until I'll be in a swim suit!
  • We do a daily Accountability post on here too (doing it after this;)

I recently got into distance running, but still do Insanity and Xtrain twice a week with 1 rest day.

I agree to sign up for a race or hold yourself accountable with an upcoming event. THat's what I did with a 15k I did and since then I can't stop signing up!

  • When I had 61 days to go until the wedding, my FI and I started doing Insanity. We are currently on day 5 today and I feel good. The first couple of days were painful but I have more energy and I feel good about myself. I like that FI does it with me because he keeps me motivated and I always want to one-up him so the competition is nice too. I just need to get my eating in check and I should be good to go!!!

  • I have been doing Zumba classes 2-3x week and once a week I've been meeting with a personal trainer for an hour. When I get to around the 30 day mark I'll probably step it up with something I can do at home so I have daily activity - either jogging around my neighborhood or doing P90x workouts.
