Wedding Cake Help!!! :)

Hello NYC Knotties,

My fiance and I are getting married at Battery Gardens in July and we are looking for a bakery to make our cake.  We live in Boston so we only make trips to NY every now and then to take care of wedding details.  We want to save some $ so we were thinking of doing sheet cakes in the back, with a small cake to cut in the front.  I'm looking for some recommendations on places to get a fairly priced wedding cake, or some place that makes good sheet cake.  Every suggestion helps!

    hi!  i'm getting married there in june! 

    we just went to baked, in red hook brooklyn, and fell in LOVE with their cakes.  they focus on taste, so they don't like to use a lot of fondant, and the cakes are beautiful and also taste amazing.  and, the prices are really reasonable -- ours will be around $600 (including delivery).  here is their website -- www.bakednyc.com

    we used plaza sweets bakery in mamaroneck ny, they were included in our venue for our wedding cake and then i used them for the groom cake as well. they were extremely reasonably priced for the groom cake, i dont know the cost of the wedding cake since it was included but they were awesome about it. they basiecally said pick a picture from online and htey can do it and thats what we did. they were super!

    I am using Sugar Couture. Penny is great to work with. I found her because I wanted to find someone to make a Salty Caramel cake. All her flavors were delicious. And she was able to create the salty caramel flavor I wanted. I highly reccomend her. http://www.sugar-couture.com

    I used Penny from Sugar Couture in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and absolutely loved her!  Our cake was one of the things we got the most compliments on, both for taste and how it looked.
