Taking Leave... Air Force

So I've gone back about 12 pages and can't find anything that answers my question.
How do you go about taking leave in the Air Force? We get a chance to go visit home in the next month. He has no idea how to go about it and none of his classmates do either. So if someone can point me in the right direction to get information I can really dig into this. Thank you!

Is he still in school?  He needs to talk to his chain of command.

I am stymied that he would ask his civilian fiancee. That's what NCOs are for! Tell him to ask his nearest SSgt.

It sounds like he's still in school.

When I was in A school, our whole class met with someone from admin and she helped us fill out our first leave chits. In the Navy we were allowed to take up to 2 weeks after A school. H was allowed 10 days between boot and MCT. I don't remember specifically the Air Force, but my BFF's H is AD AF and he took 2 weeks after he finished his tech training school as well as an additional week after reporting to his duty station to come back to NC help her pack up everything with the military movers and then they had to drive her car to AZ.

I'm kind of with Stan. Why would he ask his FI who's a civilian? He needs to ask an NCO. Thats what NCO's are there for... If it's authorized for him to take leave at that time they'll help him. If its just to two of you wanting to take vacay it might be frowned upon.

If his supervision has given him the okay to take leave he needs to go onto the AF Portal (if he has an ID, CAC reader and access).  Once there on the left hand side he will have to find "leaveweb".  In there its pretty self explanatory.  Once he fills it out it will email to his supervisor to approve his leave request then once the super approves it, it forwards to the "orderly room" for final approval.  Once the "orderly room" approves it he will get an email saying it has been and he can go back into leaveweb and print off what he needs.

I'm AD and that is how I have been instructed on how to do it.  I hope that helps.

If he in tech school and non-prior service he will be doing that during his out processing from the base.
