Hi all - I'm an "old" Knottie - converted to the Nest and then divorced. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Chicago and have been discussing getting engaged. He's asked me to look go look at rings, but we realized neither of us know where to go.
I'm very committed in my every day jewelry to independent designers and jewelers who handcraft and remake antiques. So I'd love to find some artisan jewelers in the area is possible. On the traditional jewelry side, I don't want a traditional solitaire, either, so I'd rather not go to a place who will push me that way - would love some bling, just not in a single stone ;-)
So where are the best places to shop? We live right near jewelers row, but they all seem quite traditional (from my strolling by experience only, thought). Thanks in advance!
