Lucky Clover photography?

I have been trying to find reviews for Lucky Clover- I see that many people have issues with communication and the timeframe it takes to get the photos back...but other than that how did you like working with them? Did they get photos of everything you hoped for? Did they miss anything? Any links to photo albums of your wedding done by Lucky Clover?

I just can't beat the price they have! If you have any suggestions for photogs that price $800 or less, recommend them here! Otherwise, LC will probably get my business :)

I have heard mixed reviews service wise but Ive seen some of their wedding photos and they are beautiful. I think a recent poster said that there was an illness that made those things happen and that they are all better now. So that is great news!!

We are using Studio 3 Photography (Studio3photographygallery.com) and they have packages and a la carte things that start at 799. We are doing their photo, video and photobooth option that was under 2,000 which we were excited about. We loved our epics too and they were done free.

Goodluck choosing a photographer, it is hard!

Lamar, I didn't sign with LC. I considered it, but after hearing that it took months to hear back from them with the couple's albums, proofs, etc. I decided not to go with them. The girl told me that they told her that their albums and stuff would be ready in x amount of time and it was an additional 3 months before they could even get ahold of them to ask where their stuff was, and magically it was all in the mail 3 days later. Good luck!

I have never seen or heard of them to be honest (still a newbie) but I would look into them, I hate seeing vendors bashed on here. Something could have gone on and thats why it took a long time - the bride could be exaggerating a little bit maybe? We don't have LC side of the story either. At least look into them,

I don't think it is bashing - I think it is just letting other brides know your experience with vendors. I love hearing about other peoples experiences, both positive and negative.

As for Lucky Clover I have also read a lot of negative things about them from multiple people. My thoughts are why waste your time with someone who gets multiple bad reviews when there are so many other options out there?

Good luck whatever you decide! :)

lamar0607, I would look into Lisa Rice Photography. She did my engagement pics. She is within the budget you stated, maybe $100-200 more, but you can talk to her and negotiate something to fit your needs. I completely recommend her work and personally feel she takes stronger photos than LC. But most importantly, she gets excellent reviews! Tell her Thanh said, "hi."

This exactly. Lisa is really great to work with and her prices are great. She will build a package based on your budget and she really does take great pictures.

I didn't mean really bashing, I know nobody was...but we don't really know whats going on with them. Things happen that really can't be avoided, but if they have a lot of bad reviews then I would look elsewhere.

Thanks for the advice! I have been having such a hard time finding someone in my budget then I saw LC and was so excited! I will definitely check out Lisa Rice- thanks for giving me a specific photog to check out :)

I was in the same boat regarding LC. I know Lisa Rice and a few others in cincinnati have good prices; check out Studio 3 Photography and tell them J sent you.

I think most of the comments were during a pretty bad time for them - they had some illness or something (I cant remember what) but i do know that it happens. All good vendors have an issue once in a while, it just so happened that almost all of the ladies using them were waiting about the same time frame. I used them for boudoir photos and they were quick on the return.

I am working with them and love them. They are great people. They had a lot of issues last year - personal, family issues. It happens. They are getting much better and we haven't had any issues whatsoever. They actually are much more personal than any other vendor we have worked with and I have not had any issues getting a hold of them at all. Good luck!

You clearly thought I was "bashing" LC- you posted this right after my post. I think it's necessary and helpful to tell her what I did when she was asking for reviews. And I'm really sorry to hear about whatever problems they were having withing the past year or whatever, but when it comes to your wedding pictures/albums/proofs- I'm pretty sure you're going to expect the people on the other end of the contract to hold up to their end of the deal. Life happens but that doesn't excuse you from your obligations.

Calm down girl. I don't think she meant you personally - sometimes previous post don't even show up when I am responding. I have seen vendors on here bashed quite a bit; moderators have gotten on here and discouraged it. As for LC somethings do happen that hold you back. I know they were ill and lost a job and were probably down (from what I have heard), but I don't think they didn't show up to a wedding without any notive or anything. All the other girl was saying was she doesn't like seeing people bashed. She wasn't calling you out by anymeans. You didn't bash them.

Alright, enough everybody. LC was very popular a while ago. Maybe check out the Nest and see if anyone has reviews. I also remember the taking a while for photos and there being some family issues. There were also others that seemed very happy with them.

Not everyone is going to have the same experience with every vendor. I had a less than stellar experience with my florist, but I've seen her booked again and reviewed highly.

When you are looking at a photog, remember these things. They will be the main memory of the day. Make sure you get along with them and your personalities mesh well, because they will be with you your entire day. Look at an entire album to get a sense of their work. Anyone can get a good picture in 8 or more hours, but you want more than one good picture.

    Good luck with your search!

Thanks you moderator for bringing the issue back to the table, whew it was getting heated! I was just wanting to hear if anyone had any other issues besides the "taking awhile to get photos" thing. I am planning from out of state, so I don't have the ability to meet with every single vendor I am interested in, so I have to do a lot of research before I make appts with vendors during my time back in Ohio.

Thanks to everyone else for telling me some background on LC (family problems) I have been there myself with family issues-so I understand that sometimes it is hard to do your best in your career when your personal life is out of control. I will definitely give LC a chance and at least talk to them- since they are giving me exactly what I want in my budget.

Thanks for the suggestions for Studio 3, they have some ala carte pricing right along with what LC offers! Lisa Rice was still a little over my budget for what I wanted (She has a $1,000 minimum and I wouldn't get as many hours as I would for $850 with LC).

I hope you like them! They are so nice and very fun to be around, We laughed pretty much our whole epics session. Even when it started raining. We ended up going with Studio 3 because of work, personalities and then pricing.

I do agree with the posters on here, go to different studios and see what they offer. I think personalities have to mesh well and obviously you have to like their work. What a PP said is true, I think all vendors can hit rough spots. Its how they ended the relationship after the rough spot that I would be interested in.
