Makeup trials? Recommendations PLEASE!

I can't believe I paid $13,000 for cosmetology school and I am worried about my wedding day makeup!  The thiing is I really never wear makeup.  once in awhile I go on a kick, I know always to buy the good stuff with as many natural ingredients as possible and that weddings are a day you should spare no expense on water proofing!  I'd really like to consult a professional about what the best things are that are currently available.  I have no problem purchasing a few products the day of the consult and leaving with a list of things I need to come back to get!'

My question is does anyone know a makeup counter or artist in the Columbus (I am near Westerville) area that does trials/makeovers/ whatever you want to call them?  I'd prefer one that uses people who are pretty well trained and friendly~!

I know Alison Feamster and Melissa Roshan are highly recommended around here for make-up.

    I didn't get professional make-up.

I can do the makeup myself day of... I really just want someone who does trials and I can buy makeup from!... A makeup counter with professional and helpful employees would be best and I have no problem with a minimum purchase to do the trial because i own nothing but maybe some lipgloss and eye shadow right now

I know most department stores do, but I am not sure if their sales people are experts or not. Maybe try a salon, like Penzones?

On a side note, would you be interested in doing a few girls from my bridal party's make-up for my wedding? I have someone hired to do mine and a few others, but we have more people that want it done than we have time for. PM me if you're interested :)

    Oops, sorry. Totally misread that.

Like Kelly said, most of the dept stores (Sephora) will require you to make a $50 minimum purchase.

Do you know an Avon or Mary Kay beauty consultant? They might be able to help you do some trial runs.

I'm not sure what part of Columbus that you live in but the Sephora in JCPenney at Tuttle has an "express counter". My sister worked in Penneys but she knew all the girls that worked in the Sephora and the counter is made specifically for getting make up done without charging. I was thinking about going there before my wedding to get some tips because I feel confident enough to my own make up and I would rather buy $100 in make up then pay someone to do it :) My sister told me that the guys that work there are the best. I would recommend going during the middle of the day when there are less people. Good luck!!

Nordstrom at Easton normally has several counters that offer this service.  They have special weekends where every counter is offering special gifts as well.

Awesome thanks! That is just what I was looking for.... most of them won't be cosmetologists but have to undergo some training... let me tell you in cosmetology school (at Empire anyway) you spend maybe a class or two on makeup so they might as well be cosmetologists in that area at those counters!  In fact they probably have more up to date fashion and makeup tips for you because it is more technique that is taught.

And kelly I'll message you to see if I can help :)

    UPDATE!

I went to JCPenny at tuttle as some of you recommended.  it wasn't my closest option but I like working with nice people!  the woman there was great... she kept trying to steer me away from the brand I preferred, I think that was more mindless... she was trying to find the product that fit what I was asking for rather than sticking to one brand.  But that paid off because I use Bare Escentuals usually when I wear makeup... but i found a Sephora brand lipgloss I love for evenings and a great lipstick from another natural line from Greece called Korres.

then I went and bought a mixing tray and brush set elsewhere because I love playing with pigments and mixing to find that perfect blend! best thing about Bare escentuals.

Also I know this is a bit off topic.... but I have a 4 month old baby and I work at my computer and I am a gamer so i always have circles under my eyes... Bare escentuals has something called well rested that is AMAZING! I recommend applying it with an eye brush to trouble spots like a concealer (it is a powder) then using your regular face powder all over and that brush to blend any lines.  Instant fress face in less than 2 minutes .. that and the foundation powder and I looked healthier, more awake and really great without any fuss or obvious makeup
