So distracting

does anyone find the wedding and honeymoon to be a huge work distraction? I started a new job 7 months ago, so didn't have much vacation time and had to use it all for the wedding which means I haven't had a day off in 7 months and I find myself counting down the days on my calendar until I get two whole weeks in the sunshine and away from here! It has become so distracting I find myself staring at the calendar day dreaming of cocktails on the beach numerous times a day. Or thinking about some small wedding detail and suddenly 20 minutes have passed by. I am really just wondering if anyone else feels like they have developed work ADD.

Not to mention that diddling around here on TK makes it even more of a distraction :-)

I totally have work ADD. I'm either on here or looking for stuff to buy for the wedding. Sometimes I break that up by going on FB, hgtv.com or theChive.com (best. website. ever.) Oh yea, and then I will do work for about 15 minutes before I get distracted again! LOL But I don't let myself fall behind on things, or I'll never hear then end of it...

I am the same way. I am not enjoying my job anymore and the wedding distractions don't help, I feel unproductive and really need to focus on work.

I just want the wedding to be here!!!

I totally think about it all the time, but it doesn't distract me from doing what I need to do. I have waaaayyyy too much going on with work/school to dwell on wedding stuff right now!

TK gives me work ADD. But, it's helping me avoid a huge messy problem that I'm not looking forward to dealing with.

Just kidding, but not really. It's hard to balance added responsibility at work and plan the wedding, and I've been doing more volunteer stuff for a non-profit that's trying to get a bill passed in WA, AND I am also trying to train for the Warrior dash this summer. I actually am looking forward to the wedding being over, in that it will be one less thing on my plate. So when I need a break, I eff off on TK.

I definitely have work ADD. My issue is I work as a contractor at my job, so I don't get paid vacation. If I'm off, I don't get paid. That means I haven't had a vacation in 2+ years.

I work really long hours, like many of the other ladies here. I'm up at 6a and usually not home until 9-10p. I work weekends too. Plus I have a religous commitment that takes me out 2 nights a week. Plus we're moving in a new apartment, painting, buying/assembling furniture. I might have to start looking for a new job. My FI's family is starting to make me crazy...

This honeymoon will be LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG awaited. Although, it will only be for 1 week.

I wouldn't say I'm behind - but I'm not ahead by any strecth of the imagination - and yes the knot and etsy are also two of my huge distractions - I always find so many fun wedding add Ons on etsy!

Thanks for making me feel more normal everyone! I was starting to think something was wrong with me. I cannot focus at work and spend waaay to much time surfing TK or shopping for wedding stuff online. I feel like the worst employee ever! haha. So anyways - you guys are not alone!! Hopefull our weddings will come quickly so we can resume "normal" life schedules.

I'm there with you on that one. By the time we leave for our honeymoon it will have been over a year since we took more than a long weekend. My fiance's company took away almost 2 weeks of vacation this year so we've had to save the days up

We seriously need one too, with planning a wedding and selling a house at the same time.

I am so glad that I'm not alone! I have been feeling so guilty about the wedding and honeymoon distracting me from work but now that I know it's normal, I feel sooo much better.

I mean, how can we not be distracted?! We're getting MARRIED in a couple months!

I'm with you girls, too. It doesn't help that I have "senioritis" and I'm done with my clinical rotations in 2.5 weeks. I think we'll all go through withdrawal once this is over..
